Im serious. Is there a game or system that you hold very dear to your heart? One that you always have on the "play soon" shelf?
Now, I like to think theres a difference between fanboys and the devout zealot fanboys that plague youtube and the likes. I like to think that while I hold a certain game (Halo 2) as my game nirvana it doesn't mean i'm a drooling moron who can't see other peoples opinions and blindly shouts "HALO 2 IZ BESY GAMEZ EVARZ"

What do you think? And if you say yes what is sed game/system you hold close?

Dragon Age, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas - I am a fan boy, I admit ^^

Also a big fan of Enslaved, but that probably doesn't mean much.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. I can pick it up and play it any time... after setting my PS2 up of course -_-

However not owning an Xbox I am subject to a lot of 'PS3 Fanboy' comments. I'm not, but a few people would think so because I don't want a 360.

Totally Bayonetta, Oblivion, Legend of Mana, and FF13 fanboy.

I like every single thing about all of those game. I consider them flawless.

Saint's Row 2 would make that list, if it wasn't so damn buggy.

No. I'm a 'fan' of certain games, sure, but I'm not blinded by my love for them, I can see their faults, and why people might not like them. But I guess this comes down to what words you use. I just use the word fanboy to crown the zealots mentioned, and just use the word fan for anyone else who's sane.

Kinda. There are games out there like like Kingdom Hearts, Elite Beat Agents and Mirror's Edge I'll always be a little hurt when people say bad stuff about them. I never fight for my viewpoints though, since saying my arguing skills are weak would probably be a compliment.

At least I'm alright with Elite Beat Agents. I mean, there's nothing bad to say about that game.

I am an FFVII fanboy. I'm not an active fanboy though, for instance I don't defend my game every time it gets attacked. But I am still a fanboy.

Not really, in the sense that I barely talk about my favourite games of all time, and I don't really care if people diss them; I can totally see why they would. There are plenty of games around now that I like, and even think are great, but, really, when the Mass Effect series isn't even on my Top 25 list, and hence is lower than the Chicken Run game, I think it's safe to say that I would be laughed off stage if I tried to claim myself as a Bioware fangirl. Also, I thought the Neverwinter Nights games weren't that great. /Kanye shrug

Really, there are games that I like and games that I don't like. I never got into the whole "fandom" thing when it comes to games, whereas I totally did with other stuff, and I don't think the fact that I like a particular game makes them the best thing ever; that just makes it a game I personally had a great experience with, and hence personally enjoyed more than others in my library.

Besides which, I have yet to find anybody who has a bad thing to say about MediEvil. =P

Oh yeah. I am a Bioware fanboy. I'm not rude about it, but they have yet to make a bad game in my opinion, and I will buy a game just because it is made by Bioware, even if I don't know anything else about it.

(I voted for "No, I refuse to be mixed in with those idiots" although "No" is also a good choice.)

Nope, fanboys are generally far too immature to argue with. Besides, there's no such thing as a perfect product, so there isn't any point in trying to persuade others that your favorite game is superior to your friend's ? you just have different gaming tastes.

I'm more towards the opinions presented by badgersprite and Akihiko above: just because I enjoy some things more than others doesn't mean I have to fight over it (maybe I'll argue a bit about the pros and cons of game titles that I compare, but I don't get carried away with it). True fans know that knowing the flaws of your favorite title and admitting it openly is as important to the experience as being honest with yourself. And let's face it: there's no such thing as a perfect video game.

In my opinion there's no need for fanboyism ? if you like something, good, if not ? then oh well, moving on to the next thing in the list. I see fanboyism as a sort of brand fetishism and as such it's flawed and bound to fall when reasonable arguments are presented to prove it wrong. Being a moderate fan is superior than braindead fanboyism any day of the week.

P.S. I do enjoy most games by Bioware though, but I'm not a fanboy by any means.

I've never been a fanboy of any game: I play (and have played) a few obsessively, but I've never crossed that line that is drawn when one talks about the game to others.

[sub]I think I'm probably a Claymore fanboy, though.[/sub]

Not really but then again a bit, I am a fan of things but I will always be well aware of both the strength and shortcomings of them. I will never assault somebody for having an other opinion, but I will call people out if they get there fact wrong or don't respect others opinion. So make of that what you will.

I have Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona on standby at any given time. I will defend them to the death if need be. So, yeah, I'd say I'm a fanboy.

I second this. I just discovered the series not that long ago but it's amazing. I already put in 300 hours between 3 and 4 (and am still not finished with 4).
