I'm scared of dying embarrassingly, that's for sure. I couldn't bear the thought of my tombstone reading, "R.I.P Fell out of bed the wrong way."

If I do die one day, I hope it will be atleast be a peaceful one, or perhaps heroic.

I'm not afraid of my death. Maybe partly because i'm too curious

I am however terrified of the thought of some people close to me dying

I answered yes because i am inherently afraid of simply stopping existing. However an instantaneous death would be no big deal if didn't see it coming that would actually be like a blessing being sparred the problems of life after all you wont have to care you will be dead! ahhaha

I'm not afraid of death, just really uneasy about what it is. If it is the end and we never remember anything we have done then/will do, then it's all just hypothetical, but if re-incarnation exists and there is a chance of finding out who we were and will be however true it may be then that worries me. But more in the sense of we are just the same select consciousness' re-experiencing ourselves again and again.

I have accepted that I will die someday, But the simple fact that there is no way to know what happens when you die is just horrifying. Last time i thought about it just being eternal sleep without dreams, I just sat there in a corner for a while...

Not at all.

I've accomplished everything I'd like to accomplish in life, as such I am comfortable with dying at any time and would have no significant regrets. Until that happens, I look forward to future game releases and retirement as soon as humanly possible (probably 30 years).

I certainly do not wish to die, but I'm not afraid of it. It will come one day, and when it does, I will be done.

No not really. I'm going to die anyway so whether it's tommorow or in 50 years or whatever there's no point being afraid of it. I mean if I actually did die tommorow I might be kinda annoyed and would prefer to avoid it but I'm not afraid. I mean come on, how bad could it possibly be?

So, we all know , even though we don't like to admit it , but we will all die someday. Death is a natural part of life, some even go as far as to say that, without death life would have little meaning. But even though, death is inevitable , alot of people still fear it . Realistically , no one want's to die . But some people accept it , some people don't , and other just pretend it isn't an issue , and face it when the time comes.

So my question is : Are you afraid of death ? why or why not ?

now i am not asking , if you are afraid of dying in a specific manner , because let's face it , some ways or worst than other , when it comes to death . I'm pretty sure everyone would prefer to die in their sleep , than suffer in any form or manner. But that isn't what i'm asking . What is asking is , are you afraid of dying.
well... I know I live on. Matter isn't created or destroyed. plus, if there is a god, then maybe he'll be a nice guy. I don't know what'll happen, so long as I can make people happy, touch lives, give people happiness, and make my girlfriend happy, I'll be fine

I'm not afraid to die.

But what really terrifies me is dying for nothing or no reason.

Yeah. It's the most primal fear there is.

It's in your bones, whether you're conscious of it or not.

Sorry, but this is obligatory. [http://www.paintingsilove.com/uploads/18/18150/do-you-fear-death.jpg] I fear the process, but not death itself.

I'll die when I die, which hopefully won't be for quite a while. Until then, not much point in worrying about it. (Of course worrying about death might help me live longer; but eh, better to enjoy what I get.) I would like it if there was some sort of afterlife, however.

YO! GOD(s)! DROP ME ON SOME FANTASY WORLD WITH DRAGONS NEXT LIFE, 'KAY?

yes and no.

as a christian i am honestly more afraid of death than i would be as an atheist.

if heaven and hell exists, im not worried about going to hell, however, heaven (in the traditional sense that i would be worshiping god constantly) sounds incredibly boring. if its the scrubs sense where its just like life but there are awesome clouds for everything (such as a lesbian cloud with a milkshake pool) that would be awesome.

if death is just the end, im fine with it, but im not ready to die yet.

For me dying isnt really bad it's kind of like your parents saying you have to stop playing on the playground with other kids, and come home for dinner. It's not bad your just missing stuff now.

Personally I am not afraid of death. I have two reasons for this.

1) I identify myself as a Christian, part of the core tenants of my faith is that death is an enemy that has already been defeated and even if my mortal coil is to fail and die one day I have faith that I will live on. Anyone who honestly believes that they cannot permanently die as I do due to the existence of an afterlife shouldn't have any reason to fear death.

2) Even if none of what I believe is true and there is no afterlife, (I believe in the afterlife nonetheless) death of the mortal body is inevitable. The supreme irony of life is that no one gets out of it alive, and if this is true then I should just enjoy my life to fullest of my ability until it ends. If you can't look back on your life and feel that you lived a quality and fulfilling life then you weren't living it in the right way to begin with, I would rather live a life that burns twice as bright even if it only lasts half as long.

This doesn't however mean that I would throw myself in the way of death, I want to live and enjoy my life but when (not if, death is inevitable) death comes my way I will be content with it.

I answered "no".

Why?

Because it fascinates me to what is beyond this life. I would not describe myself as a religious person. In fact I am more agnostic or deistic. But the way I comprehend death, it is as scary as turning a corner.

If its the Catholic version of heaven? "Yay, Paradise! :D"
If its something completely different? "Oooo, didn't see that coming <:O"
If its reincarnation? "Sweet, Now I'm a _______!" (though I wouldn't know I was something before :p)
If its nothing? Well, than it really doesn't matter, does it. :p

To help all of these outcomes, I just do the best I can. Live the life I want to, if death 'comes for me' I want to be able to 'go' happy with what I have done. And so far, I am. (Can any other 17 year olds say that?)

I guess, if I feared anything about death, its being forgotten 2-3 generations from now. (how many people know about their great-great grandfather?)

So to ensure that I am never forgotten I want to contribute something to society. Politics, science. You could say death is my driving force.

It is like racing against a clock that cannot be stopped. Its the most motivating thing.

"I can say 'I love you' to my grandmother next time I see her. Or, cause I am 5mins away from her house, I'll drop by for 5 seconds, cause, you never know."
"I have always wanted to play guitar, I'll start next summer. Or, maybe today."

So, no. I am not afraid of death; I am encouraged by it. I feel its a hurdle everyone most overcome, whenever. Age 17 or age 70. Everyone will come to terms with it eventually.

Hopefully people don't just "TL;DR" this. xD
