Everyone was dicks in 2. Which is weird because I'm not sure the point of the plot was supposed to be that everyone was dicks, they definitely try to make you side with the supposedly defenseless and enslaved Mages but then totally justify all of the Templars' fears of the mages and it's just... I don't know. The whole set up is a bit like the Imperium of Man to Psykers in 40k only without the balls or religious zealotry.Leon Declis said:Well, I have only played 2 so far, and I sure as hell don't remember what happened in there except the Mages are kinda dickish.
So, I suppose I will probably play both Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. And I won't buy 3 until I finish both of those, which means I will play it in about a year (or longer), and that'll let me avoid everyone moaning about the ending, let them release the fix-it-up patch, and the price won't be £60 but £20. That'll do me fine.
I think they just didn't have enough confidence in their writing or characters to do something other than a boss marathon finish. On the plus side(?) They attained a stylistic identity with 2 at least.
More on topic; I like the idea of the Keep, removing the buggy save transfers altogether by making a detailed flag generator is fine by me.
Inquisition as a whole... I'm cautiously optimistic (playable qunari, non-scaling enemies, and environmental hazards are a big plus for me) but I'm gonna need to see some actual gameplay over more than a single fight and talk scene before I consider dropping money on it.
