I'd hardly hesitate to ask who in this thread isn't either gay, religious, or uncomfortable with all forms of outward affection.

Anyone who changes who they are to be more "gay" is still lying to themselves, I haven't changed at all since I announced it. And it was quite disappointing to my sisters, they are upset I don't suddenly want to go shopping with them, watch sex in the city or some other crappy show, giving myself manicures or generally being a bit less of a slob. I'll stick with watching South Park, burping loudly, playing video games and talking in my usual tone of voice thank you very much.

Although to be fair when my second oldest sister moved out I did move into her room which is painted purple and has butterfly's on the walls, can't argue with the best bedroom in the house though. I'll just have to paint in green in the dead of the night...

I'm not homophobic, but I wouldn't want to be too close because I'd feel really awkward.

You know when you're with some people, two of which are in a relationship, and then they start making out and whatnot with you right there. That level of awkwardness.

I'm the 666th voters for "No". I feel like it's accomplished something bad. -.-

OT: I don't mind hanging around with homosexuals, I just wouldn't like it if they were to start flirting.

Not in anyway. If you don't push your sexuality onto me, I don't to you. If I say I'm straight, move on stranger. I don't care that you are gay, I just care if you try to convert me.
Sexuality doesn't work that way...
OT: Contrary to a couple of years ago, no, I am not homophobic. In fact I go out of my way to help homosexuals if they are victim to prejudice.

The problem with this thread is;

A: This is a bait thread. Its one of those threads whose title and or subject are designed solely to get people to click on it, and comment. Those annoy me to no end, but its not about me, its about all the little people, so...

B: This topic is a rather lame one anyways. Topics about gender differences, race differences, sexual differences, and to a lesser extent, political and religious ones are ALWAYS lame. Because frankly, its been done before. See Ref A. Its the equivelance of cashing in on a cow, only the cow has already been beaten to death six times prior to your arrival. (And, making a broad, unfounded/completely founded assumption about the age-range of the forum base, this cow was most likely beaten to death six times before you were even born.) And finally...

C: No one ever tells the truth anyways. Thats the lamest part of all. No one ever admits to being a homophobe in person. No one ever admits to being anti-black, anti-gay, or a chauvinist, in public, in honesty. Because we are a culture of people who have been taught the fear of the Politically Correct.

Think about that for a second. When have you ever seen your average friends admit to being against womens sufferage? Or against 'equal' rights between the races? Never. Because admitting that would make you a social outcast instantly. People are not free to admit how they feel about a "hot button" topic, and so they tow the line. The best anyone can do these days is couch their statement carefully, with the old throwaway line.

"Im not a racist... but..."
"Im not anti-gay or anything, but..."

So... I feel this post is a waste of time. Its certaintly gotten alot of bites, but thats because most fish have poor vision, and bite whatever shiny thing you toss infront of it.

I don't think of them as any different than anyone else. They prefer the same gender, that's about it.
For most people, I judge people based on their own personality and views/opinions.

Even gay people hate the "in your face" type. There's no need to go around shouting "I LOVE CAWK" all the time. You can spread the message once for the sake of finding other gay people, but they don't need to be reminded every following day.

I'm not fond of camp people either. Some of them act more feminine than women every did, it's ridiculous. Not to mention if I'm gay that means I'm attracted to guys, so I don't want them all acting like women ;D

I'm tolerant of homosexuals, but I firmly dislike the camp flamboyant type - because being gay does not make you an annoying attention seeker; yet everyone acts as though that is how all gay people behave.

I don't have a problem with gay people at all. Well, the super-effeminate ones tend to have grating voices but you get desensitised to that after a while.

I think I've had at least one gay or bi friend since the end of secondary school. I think it's funny and kinda sad how evil kids and high school teens are that there were no gays at all until the day after final results day when everybody moved to college.

Nope, homophobia is an irrational dislike or aversion for homosexuals, according to the dictionary. Nothing about fear at all.

So yes, you are a homophobe.

That term (homophobe) actually very much annoys me. I'll tell you why.

"Phobias" are generally associated with irrational, unfounded fear. But I know very few people who are actually afraid of homosexuals, and it cannot be denied with any semblance of intelligence that there are no valid reasons to oppose gay marriage.

Am I homophobic? Not at all. I do think that homosexuality is unnatural, unproductive, and simply wrong, but that does not mean I somehow hate those who practice it. If "I don't approve of it" meant "I hate you" in any given situation in life, most of us would not have many of the friends we do; it's stupid to assert that disapproval of one's lifestyle means disapproval of one's existence (though I do hear that a lot on this issue). But there are some genuine cultural, sociological, and moral concerns with the issue that are not smart to write off.

My point simply being, don't go painting all who disapprove of homosexuality as having some kind of irrational fear or ignorant hatred of homosexuals. It's simply not the case, and to attack someone on such assumptive grounds makes you no less ignorant than you're accusing them of being.

Homosexuality is very much a natural thing, and being unproductive is something we need more of in an over-productive society.

I don't really see your gripe with it. It seems that most anti-homosexuality arguments basically come down to "I find gays icky".
