Not since I was 12 when I went through my "Could I be gay" phase, fervently trying to find a way to conclude this internal conflict. It soon became apparent what the most effective indication of being was, and as my friends started coming out, I grew out of the irrational fear of sexuality. I'm now so open to the idea of variable sexuality, if I happened to find a man attractive I would have no problem with it, and be completely fine with potentially pursuing a relationship. This has however yet to happen, so it looks as though for now I'm still straight. Which is a shame, because I seem to get a lot more interest from their team, I'd have had a much more prolific love life if I was. Darn.

I find it ridiculous that people have a problem with gays. It isn't like they formed a giant biker gang association and go off at night and binge drink and have sex in other peoples homes.

I don't care if I see two men around showing affection, but I get slightly more excited when I see two lesbians making out (only because I am a hetero male).

Don't Ask Don't Tell is also a stupid debate topic. The whole controversy doesn't make any sense at all. No logic to be found.

If you have useful skills the military needs, by all means you should be able to join.

If any of you guys can point the logic behind it out to me, then you are a genius.

There is no category i can pick that suits me. I'm christian so I obviously don't approve but it doesn't matter if your gay or not your still have every chance to go to heaven or hell. Anybody who has a solid understanding of Christianity could tell you this. It's just most people who claim to be christian tend to not to know the first thing. I sound like a Hypocrite don't I?
No, you just sound like someone who's been forced into a view that you don't sound like you even particularly agree with.

It's a cultural/evolutionary thing. Things like the Bible being more or less "the List o' Morals" (it would be more accurate to say it's a survival guide for early man)
"Early man" came way before the Bible.

OT: Not at all.

And no, there's no "but..." which most people apparently feel the need for. The difference between me and a gay guy is about the difference between me and a guy who likes blondes when I prefer brunettes.
Did it sound that way? Let me rephrase:
I think Homosexuality is a sin like any other (Blasphemy, disrespecting your parents/elders, cursing, etc) but the whole point of jesus was so people could be forgiven for there sins.
enseslay akemay?
Secondly about that other quote:
The bible is a collection of documents that we believe hold relevance to Jesus's teachings from across history that have been translated for our benefit. Not a list of rules. It has rules yeah but you wouldn't say Video games are are all shooters, yeah there's a fair few shooters about (shooters being metaphor for rules) but there more to games than that (games being a metaphor to Christianity/bible).

I don't mind it. I just don't like it when people think of me in that way. I'm straight. I hang out with girls more but guess what? I'm still straight!

It's very simple. The military (particularly ground forces) is compromised of aggressive hyper masculine juvenile homophobic males (mostly). The don't ask don't ell policy is to prevent homosexuals from being alienated from there respective units when teamwork is essential. It's not that the military doesn't like gays (that could be possible however) as much as it's about stopping fight before they start.

Phobia implies some sort of irrational fear is at work. Which isn't the case for most people at all.

As for myself? I simply find it disgusting, and hope that if it is genetically related(I believe that it is, given the recent experiments with animals/insects) that it can be fixed.

*Heavy Sarcasm* Of course gays are hated. They never existed before any of our current religions. Being gay goes completely against the belief of loving your neighbors.*Sarcasm off*

Now if you will excuse me. I am now going to watch my lesbian neighbors through binoculars and watching lesbian porn in my room at the same time. Damn I LOVE to be alive at times like these.

Honestly, I am, not to the point I won't have a conversation with them, but, I'm a little creeped out.

Not in the least.

Granted, I'd be somewhat unnerved seeing two guys swapping spit, but then again, I'm unnerved when I see couples kiss period, regardless of whether said couple is hetero or homo.

Although I would be really annoyed were they really in-your-face about being into their own sex, but then again, so would anyone else.

I only get freaked out with flamboyantly homosexual ones, bordering on stereotypical. Unfortunately, because I work in a Drama department...

No, but it's still wrong.

Not morally; biologically. It's incorrect. I don't have a problem with it, it's just not cricket.

If I meet somebody new and learn they are gay, I feel surprised at first and I'm unsure what to do, but then I realize they're just another person and it doesn't matter and I get on with it.

I don't hate gays, in fact I'm bisexual myself and I'm into transgenders. (Go, judge!)

BUT.

I hate the "fabulous!" gays who prance around like faeries and do nothing but draw attention to themselves. I'm all for equality but seriously guys, you complain when you're treated different but maybe it's because you are a little different. Just a little.

I do, however, hate homophobics and bigots. Bunch of uneducated twats. Especially when it's due to a religious bent, I'M PRETTY CERTAIN GOD DOESN'T CARE WHO YOU ROOT, YOU BASTARDS, you don't have to treat gays and trans like rats, that's how the fucking holocaust was started.

The word "homophobe" makes no sense at all.
None.

It's not like people have an irrational fear of gay people. It's not like they'll have an anxiety attack and throw up if they see two guys kissing.

While I believe that, as a famous family guy quote says, that anyone has the right to be miserable for the rest of their lives. But I might I am a little creeped out by watching two men make out. Yet, lesbians are awesome. Why is that, I wonder?

My policy on this is the same as my policy on everything. If you like it then that's great, just as long as you don't try pushing it on me.

Or soldiers could get over their problems with gays. However, that would be in a perfect world. So you win.

Fuck no, I've got no problem with them as long as they don't use it as their defining characteristic. Then I just find them rather boring.
