And now for my weekly thread.
A couple days ago my brother brought up something about if you spend 1000 hours at something you are a master at it. This got me to thinking that I have easily spent that much time with Magic the gathering, World of Warcraft and close to that about learning about world of warcraft lore. I wouldnt consider myself a master at any of those so I started thinking about it and thought "am I really a master at those?"
[sub]Also by this I would be a master at school...which isnt likely...or maybe it is? Low 80s without trying in most courses. Is that mastery?[/sub]
Answer I dont think so. I'm not stellar at Magic, I pull mediocre DPS/heals/tanking in World of Warcraft. The closest one would probably be the Warcraft lore since I can pull from that and reference it easily.
Perhaps I am going about this wrong. Maybe I'm taking "Mastery" to a level that doesnt exist. Well according to free online dictionary
1. Possession of consummate skill.-I suppose
2. The status of master or ruler; control: mastery of the seas.-I dont own magic the gathering or World of warcraft(even though it would be awesome)
3. Full command of a subject of study: Her mastery of economic theory impressed the professors.-This is what I was thinking of.
So Escapist is this phrase true? False? Or is it a big hulking rutabaga?
[sub]Yes I know this thread is irrelevant but please I would like input[/sub]
