Well it's a choice between civilized humans, or primitive aliens. Who's going to work out better in the long run? The humans can advance and progress, the blue things will simply stagnate. Therefore, the humans deserve the resources.

As soon as I started watching it I knew I'd be supporting the humans. They were so cartoon character evil that I was waiting for the shitty hippy scenes to end so I could see what Colonel Stalin Hitler Pot McNastypants would do next. There's also the fact I don't like a movie to tell me what I should think, It was so ridiculously over engineered so everyone would cheer the Navi. I'm surprised Cameron didn't go the whole hog and slap in some subliminal "LOVE THE NAVI" frames.

I went with humans because all the liberals in my classes were all "Humns bad Navi gewd." Asking why, their only response was, "look at wht tey don." What, they need unobtanium? Well Unobtanium's use could make or break humanity's motive. What does it do? "It's worth mony." I get that, why do the humans want it? "Its worth mony." OK, how about you fill in the blank: Uranium powers nuclear power plants, gold is used in circutry, unobtanium is used _________. "ITS WORTH MONY YOU STOOPID PERSON."
So I assumed Unobtanium is used to fuel the spaceships so that it cuts travel time down by 3/4s. Simply because I hate those stupid Strawman Liberals.
(NOTE: When I say 'liberal' or 'strawman liberal' here, I mean people who are liberals because they hate Republicans or because they think we're more discriminatory now than the 60's. Meaning, people who are exceedingly stupid and also liberals. Not Liberals who are stupid. Take no offense.)

I consider myself highly liberal and I was rooting for the humans all the way through for partially that reason. The people you are describing sound more Hippie Liberal than anything else.x434343 said:

Well I live in a suburb of Los Angeles called The Peninsula. Basically 5 cities on a peninsula. The people inhabiting it are either upper-class or the high end of middle-class. I'm the borderline middle-class type. The people supporting the blue catpeople are any mix. Just a rundown of a few.MrDeckard said:

Well the humans were definately dicks when it came to treating the Na'vi properly. I mean there is an entire planet and they decide that they HAVE to go for the unobtainium deposit under the Na'vi's home? Seriously that's just greedy. I understand that they humans did try to negotiate with the Na'vi and give them medicine and knowledge, but still did the humans really need that particular unobtainium deposit? No not really.
That being said I can't really root against the humans. I wasn't hoping they would win the entire time like my one friend who I saw it with, but I was pretty happy to see that they properly showed that humanity would kick the Na'vi's blue asses even when outnumbered. I didn't like the Deus Ex Machina during the fight though (The planet decides to fight against the humans, WHAT THE FUCK?).
Plus if the Colonel was anymore badass my head would explode.
And for all the people who were rooting for humanity remember this: the humans may have left for now, but you can bet they'll be back. And with a proper army this time too...
