If you're fat, go buy Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength, 2nd Edition, and start weight lifting (or, if you prefer, find a decent strongman or powerlifting coach and start doing that instead) - actually, hell, go to EliteFTS.com and buy the 5/3/1 eBook. As far as I'm concerned, everything else - changing your eating habits, not drinking, hell, even losing weight - is completely optional. I couldn't give less of a **** if you're fat as long as you're strong or working towards being strong, in no small part because you have the capacity to be significantly stronger than I am, purely on merit of being so much bigger. Fat and strong is good, and it's not as though it takes a lot of time; with SS or 5/3/1, you're looking at maybe 3-4 hours per week in the gym AT MOST. It's so minimal you can probably afford to just go to bed an hour later or wake up an hour earlier on the "lifting" days without seeing many problems (after you've adjusted to the new pattern, of course).

Fat and weak, on the other hand, is pretty off-putting. There's a certain look associated with fat and strong that's actually pretty good, even if it's not "beautiful." Fat and weak, much less so.

I'm more one of the laugh at them behind the back types, but I have a friend who's fat as well.

What can I say, it's just too easy
Makes you wonder what people say behind your back, doesn't it?

If that's what it takes to fit into society, then screw you all. Screw. You. All.
Hell, with friends like that, who needs enemies? : / If it makes you feel any better, that is indeed what it takes to fit into certain parts of society, namely those parts that think the cracked-out stick-***** look is one to strive for. (And if you can toss in a pair of giant domestic-violence sunglasses, so much the better.) But since society has more than one part... you know, this doesn't sound as encouraging as it did when I started, but I can't bring myself to delete it because I can't think of anything better. *sobs*

I try not to let really fat people bother me, but when you see a 40 stone man in a shirt and shorts it makes you gag. I understand that for most fat people it is a genetic thing, that's just how their bodies are.

Yeah fat people bother me. Especially if they haven't got a justified reason to be fat.

They only really bother my because I find them unattractive though. You can be the nicest person ever and be fat and we can be friends, but I could never, ever, ever have sex with a fat person.

Ugly people are born ugly so I can easily get over that if they've got a good personality, but fat is not natural regardless of how many people claim that they're just "big-boned".
This, although I do think that some people are overweight due to a slow metabolic rate just like I am underweight due to a fast metabolic rate.
People with slow metabolisms usually are only Jack Black fat at best though.

I'm overweight, but I can easily do 20 reps of 480 lbs with my legs. I'm 5'8" and I look like I weigh about 140lbs, but I actually weigh a lot more because of muscle, which makes me feel like I'm fat.

Having that much muscle makes it worse. Whenever I try to exercise my little bit of waist off, I gain more muscle, which makes me weigh even more. Even if I try to do non-muscle building workouts.

And I'm a girl. So I just fucking lose. A 'friend' actually told me once that girls with muscles are unattractive, and that my being a size ten was also very unattractive. He essentially said I needed to waste away some muscle and then starve myself.

If that's what it takes to fit into society, then screw you all. Screw. You. All.
Leg Press doesn't really count as far as anyone legitimately strong is concerned (...unless you're Ronnie Coleman and using 2300lbs), but I thought this warranted my saying that willingness to get something heavy and shift it is going to do a hell of a lot more to get my respect than anything short of a Science/Engineering Graduate Degree, as far as "Stuff I can know without actually interacting with you" goes.

There's a reason the shirt says "No fat chicks". The principle applies to both genders. If you can't be bothered to maintain an average body frame, don't kid yourself in thinking you bag hotties. You can always change your weight, be glad you're not disfigured.

Probably lots, but it's no sense being paranoid so I just shrug it off.

FYI I only do it to the fat girls who come to school with either tight clothes on or big bags of candy..

If you like you, then I don't care. Do whatever.
This kinda sums it up for me. Looks are important for the first little while, then it all comes down to what you say.

My g/f is the biggest girl I have ever been with (she is not massive or anything, but does have a bit extra) and I lover her far more then any other girl I was ever with. Why? Cause she makes me laugh.

I was overweight... But I lost 8 kgs last summer :p
It's just a matter of not eating much and getting regular exercise.

I'd agree if it weren't for all the fat guys I've seen walking around with rail-thin women. It seems like being fat is only a problem up to a point, then paradoxically women start wanting you again. o_O ---?

Very comforting, I'm sure.
