the only series i've played enough to give an accurate opinion would be mortal combat, street fighter, and tekken... Tekken all the way for the ps1 that was awesome jacks was cool, my favorite was... the tiger dude i forget his name, and the biker guy with the tall hair was cool too.

Streetfighter 2
Normal speed, no endless combos.... everyone was well balanced, and you could atleast counter what someone did if it was a repeated move. Also most all characters were good right outa the box as fighters without the five million special moves.

Combos, and 10 second kills destroyed the fighting games.

Yeah this game was better than Super Smash Bros and it had even better characters.
But Street Fighter gets my vote because no matter how many times I play it, I love SF2.

Well Soul Edge/Blade is where the series really started.

I liked the Street Fighter Alpha series. Great characters, combos were sensible but not outrageous, nice animation. I wish they'd come out with a SFA4 using high-resolution sprites and backgrounds.
