I liked the Street Fighter Alpha series. Great characters, combos were sensible but not outrageous, nice animation. I wish they'd come out with a SFA4 using high-resolution sprites and backgrounds.

Someone forgot about Dead or Alive? Well I like SSBs the best... pure fun, alot of characters and alot of variations in gameplay and it's original.

My favorite is either Killer Instinct or Guilty Gear, both because they're really fast-paced games where it's easy to rack up combos (in the former it's one of the main selling points). A fast-paced fighting game is my favorite kind, which also one of the reasons I like the DBZ: Budokai series, one of the most fast-paced 3D fighters.

Tekken wins with Street Fighter so close behind in second that Tekken can feel its breath on the back of its neck. Creepy.

Finally; a fighting game poll that includes the Virtua Fighter series, the most solid, accurate and diverse fighting games ever made.
THANK YOU!! Someone agrees with me.

Everyone who nut hugs SSB has obviously never played powerstone. Otherwise they would recognise that SSB is a shoddy wanna be with half of the depth and variety and none of the charm.

I'd have to go with Bloody Roar ( all titles except for 4), clean controls and a fighting engine that I prefer over any other game.
Though I did enjoy the first Tekken for a short while, but after that you couldn't pay me to touch the series ever again.

Supersmash brothers all the way, even it was originally a joke. It's a bloody popular joke.

I'd have to go with Tekken. The first three for the PS1 were the most solid fighting games out there.

Dead or Alive actually, I really loved the counter system. But out of those, I'd say Tekken for no good reason.

I realize it's more campy then anything else but my favorite fighting game to date is STILL Tobal #1 made by Squaresoft. It was an attempt of Square's during the Playstation 1 Era to make a fighting game, it played a lot like Virtua Fighter in the sense that it was "tournament style" fighting without any kind of projectiles. The character designs were made by Akira Toriyama (which for years I never realized) and in general it was just a game that really made a person enjoy beating the snot out of your best friend.

In general that is without doubt my favorite fighting game, but because it's not on the poll (and for good reason, Square only brought one stateside and never brought it's sequel over) I chose King of Fighters. Because Terry Bogard is my favorite character... ever.

My vote goes to Super Smash Bros.

This series of fighting games is unique and original. Aside from the premise of taking popular franchise characters and making them fight is the winning conditions. Depleting your opponents health bar isn't the goal. You build up your opponents damage until you can knock them off the stage and stop them from getting back. This concept mixed with rolls, spot dodges, differing character weights and fall speeds, four player battles and easy controls creates a game that is easy to pick up yet still very deep and difficult to master. Combos are completely dependent on situation and one string of the same button presses cannot guarantee a combo or a victory.

I also play Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, and Guilty Gear series. However the greatest single fighting game ever created would have to be...

Eternal Champions: Challenge from the dark side

Look it up if you don't know.

Soul Calibur or actually just Soul Calibur 4... mostly because my friends and I used to speed through as quick as possible to unlock all the customisation features then spend hours just editing each character to our liking. Plus I like Soul Calibur for giving me the option to play as this guy:

Instead of some big boobed bint or handsome genric tough man. I like them lizards :)

If i remember correctly he also did a video on Soul Calibur :p And he didn't really warm to either! lol.

I have always loved Smash Bros., since the N64 version :p
