People who are voting for Avatar obviously haven't watched The Hangover, which is the funniest film ever made. I'm not saying Avatar is bad, far from it (I thought it was brilliant, a definate close 2nd), but The hangover had me constantly in stitches :D

Obviously Inglourious basterds.
I was really let down by that film. It just seemed to drag in all the wrong places, and didn't have the punch I was expecting. I know loads of people loved it, but I think they enjoyed the premise more than the actual film.

I loved District 9 (the way they made the film, and the life they gave to the prawns was incredible), Avatar (I think the story was fine, but the visuals were mind blowing - this film probably made the biggest impact on me) and Up (Pixar have yet to make a film that isn't incredible).

I honestly cannot choose between the three.

PS :I have yet to see The Hangover, which looks hilarious.

Avatar is quite good in terms of style, production, acting, plot etcetc. So I guess it's gonna be the best movie of the year.

Though I didn't like it that much due to all the advertising it got. I get a bad feeling about over-advertised products.

So I'd say there were good movies this year, but what I liked most was probably Cloudy with a chance of meatballs :), though I would VERY like to see The imaginarium of doctor Parnassus... And that would probably by my fav, since I actually liked the trailer more than anything else this year anyway :))

Of all those, I'd have to vote Sherlock Holmes the best, followed by Inglorious Basterds and Avatar.

The fact district 9 is not on the list while shit like Angels and Demons are up there has completely ruined the credibility of this thread /facepalm

I couldnt have more than 8 movies in the Poll, so the Poll will contain the top 8 highest-grossing films of 2009.
Why isn't District 9 on here, that movie made 200 million dollars.

Watchmen. Why? Go watch the film.

I have seen Avatar and Up and I loved those two as well. I haven't been able to bask in the excellence of District 9 or Inglourious Bastards, because I haven't seen them yet.

I know, shame on me.

I agree. Who would ever put Twilight: New Moon in that poll? Taste in films, music etc. is relative, but those are some seriously overhyped films.
