I'd say mgs4, I've not played it (don't have a ps3) but I liked all the previous games in the series. Should the ps3 drop to what I would call a reasonable price I'll consider buying one.

When 360 owners say that the PS3 has a worse online network they never say why. Can you give some reasons please?
A shitty network that you don't pay for and that isn't (maybe?) full of snivelling 12 year old ADD infested kids is clearly not worth the effort, when you can get that for just $20 odd a month AND get insane lag at no extra cost. Honestly I doubt sony could make psn worse than xbox live if they tried, and I own a 360 not a ps3, so don't rage at me about fanboyism, xbox live is shit, even if the overall console is better(obviously in my veiw, I did buy it, and no I don't care/want to hear about how I'm wrong) .

I know people have terrible things to say about XBL, but turn mute on and the experience isn't half bad.
Yeah, it's just like Nintendo's online gaming.

Do it for little big planet and the same reason most people get a PS3, the eventual shadow of the colossus 2.

He meant right now. If it was on future potential we'd need about 12 other options.
but I gave him a reason to get one right now, then gave him a little extra.

The PS3 is getting so many awesome games in addition to what it already has.

Mirror's Edge looks so damn good. I want that game more than I want a scantily-clad young woman too drunk to remember in the morning.

LittleBigPlanet is awesome. MGS4 is most certainly fun. Resistance 2 looks fun. Killzone 2 is going to be sweet.

A couple months ago, I honestly would have said "cause of FF exclusivity"
Now I don't have any good reasons to get a PS3, and I happily snuggle up with my 360 on those cold, lonely nights. =P
...What about the other two Final Fantasy XIII's?
one of those is some mobile game, which I couldn't care less about.
As for FF Versus XIII, well, I can't have my cake and eat it too, can I?
I'll have to settle for one FFXIII game for now.

The selection of decent games it has.

It also makes a brilliant paperweight.
You forgot doorstop, if you look it up in google images you can see it in action.

I remember seeing one picture of a ps3 converted into a grill.

I believe 720p/1080p is how many pixels are on the screen at once or something like that? The p is progressive, but I always forget what that means. Oh well.
Ignore if you weren't really asking.

Progressive and Interlaced refer to the way the screen is refreshed. This is how it was explained to me.

Progressive has the all pixels stretched across the screen refreshed bottom to top/top to bottom in a quick wave.

Interlaced has two sets of lines down the screened imagined as 0101010101010101010.
Each set is flashed up 0 then 1 then 0 then 1.

This is why interlaced is inferior because not all pixels are shown on the screen at one time but due to the persistance of vision. we see them as always there.

The usual questions of was anyone else using your network, was your computer on, someone stealing your wireless, were you using a wireless connection, etc apply. Every once in a while it would seem that the xbox live/the game developers clear out their caches as to what IP's/Gamertags have good connections and make good hosts and you'll frequently get stuck with bad hosts who disconnect or drop out. Were you losing your connection to Xbox Live or just the particular lobby you were in? When I was talking about my problems with the PSN my ID was being disconnected and I was losing my connection completely.

EDIT: Also, define "Full broadband connection".
It was in a console lounge that I was using to make my choice between the two. At first it didn't connect at all, so I asked the guy to give me the full allocation. So I was receiving the Internet capacity for 30 terminals at the same time. And it didn't drop then - it lagged for the full game. As in I push foward, and after 20 seconds of nothing I have my face in a wall.
Ah. See, I'd blame that on the poor network. I'm sure if you were to use an Xbox on your own home network, you'd have a much better experience.
Let me see if I understand you...you are saying that, in a place built solely to facilitate gaming, and with an internet connection geared as such, I would somehow have it massively worse than the Wi-Fi connection my Ps3 shares with my fathers laptop, my brothers Mac and my mothers computer? (my PC is on its own connection, since I'm a major download hog, as evidenced by me somehow going through 10 Gigabytes in 2 weeks). Yeah, that makes perfect sense.
Well, over here in the US we don't have 'console lounges' so I assumed it to be the equivalent of an internet cafe for consoles, and I draw that you're not american by your mention of a download limit, evidenced by 'going through' implying you've got a limit of ten GB. Sorry to get so detailed, I'm proving a point to someone (who isn't in here, but wanted to understand my reasoning). Anyway, it implies that there are several consoles trying to connect to Xbox Live from one location. And since I don't actually know about the place you're talking about, I can't give a valid explanation based off of their networking setup. If Xbox live was buggy itself during your brief period of trial, I wouldn't know, as that was around the time the local loop connecting my to my ISP got fried during a lightning storm, and I didn't have a working internet connection.
Like I said, even after the guy gave me the full connection - enough internet connection for 20 360's and 20 PC's - it continued to lag to an unbearable degree.
Like I said, I can't say anything on their specific situation without speaking out my ass. I seriously suggest giving it a second try; not at some console lounge, but at your own place, a friends, etc. Somebody who uses it regularly and doesn't have a problem with it. Or perhaps you're just the anti-xbox-live, inducing lag and packet loss merely by touching the controller.
Does that also mean that my mere presence was enough to cause all other participants to begin displaying advanced cases of tourettes syndrome?
Yes. You're obviously some kind of demon walking amongst men in an earthly vessel. Somebody call HP Lovecraft!

Progressive refreshes every line of the screen every frame.. With interlaced, it refreshes every other line every frame. So for frame one it changes all the odd numbered lines and then it refreshes the even numbered ones.

Hope that cleared it up for everyone.

1. Considering the number of people who complain about tis, that would mean we have something in the order of 50,000 demons walking the earth (rough estimate).

2. Isn't Lovecraft dead? And has been for over 70 years?
1. Perhaps your effects are widespread?

2. Then we'd better get the Ghostbusters too. What's their number again?

The PS3 just fits me well.
We had gotten an HDTV and I wanted something that would really open it up; between the games and the blue ray player, the ps3 fills the role nicely.

As for exclusives: once again PS3 just fits my game taste weather it's weird games like the Pixel Junk games, echochrome, & Little Big Planet or the more mainstream fare like Warhawk.
I like some of the 360 exclusives but I'd rather play them with a mouse on my PC.

Free online: I know the 360's online isn't expensive but if the machine lasts a few years, you're going to end up paying way more than you would for a ps3. When I first got the ps3 I didn't get any games for a week. I just played free demos.

But the main reason I chose a ps3 over the 360 is because of the red rings. If I'm spending that much money, I want the thing to have a good chance of remaining functional.
