The selection of decent games it has.

It also makes a brilliant paperweight.
You forgot doorstop, if you look it up in google images you can see it in action.
I remember seeing one picture of a ps3 converted into a grill.
Considering its heating issues, wouldn't the 360 be better at that?
The keyword is converted. If you look closely the ps3 isn't even on.

Little Big Planet is the only reason that makes me want a PS3. Other than that, the PS3 is hardly superior to the Xbox 360. The PS3 has less games, suckier network (eventhough it IS for free. Wait, it is free, right?), is more expensive (both the games and the actual PS3) and.. Did I say less games yet? Plus, I really don't like the controller, but that's personal preference.
When 360 owners say that the PS3 has a worse online network they never say why. Can you give some reasons please?
To be honest, I'm only basing this on what I know about the PSN for the Playstation 2. I've heard plenty of people complaining about lag on PSN and how it lacked compared to Xbox Live back then, but I really don't know how PSN is now. I think there's still more lag than on XBL.

Valkyria Chronicles and it's ilk. The only reason to buy a PS3. Also Atlus and NIS still seem to like the PS3 more than the 360.

There's no reason it beats other consoles unless you like the games better.

Over here in England it's not even the cheapest blu ray player.
Actually, the PS3 is more then 2.5 times as powerful as the XBox360. As well as that, the 360 has a 30% failure rate, despite the fact that it has the widest range of games. But i see where you are coming from :D

Yeah the PS3 is greater in the performance department, it also makes developing games for the PS3 extremely expensive for developers so it's not a great deal for PS3 gamers at all.

Not really, it just takes some time to work it out initially. Once they understand it, they can work at it brilliantly. Don't believe me? Insomniac managed to make two games in 2008, one of which is a match for the 360's pinnacle of gaming, which took Epic 2 years to make.
Are you kidding me?

The development cost runs into millions and millions because developers are trying to make games for the PS3.

Smaller developers won't be able to foot the bill for developments like these.

Oh please. How much did Halo 3 cost to make again? $60 million. Shenmue famously cost $70 million. Do you actually know what the development costs for Ps3 games are?

For the record, currently the most expensive game for the Ps3 is GTA IV, with its $100 million budget. The highest production costs for an exclusive belong to Killzone 2, with $30 million - half of Halo 3, and what looks like twice the bang (looks like being the key phrase).

That is unless you believe internet rumours, which lists Rockstars promised Ps3 exclusive LA Noire as the most expensive game on the system, or ever, with a cost of supposedly $300 million. Considering how it actually looks, I call deep bullshit on that, unless Team Bondi are just making it bigger than Liberty City. Seems like The Escapist should send someone based in Sydney to interview them about it.....
I'm unware of the exact figures, I remember hearing reports of MGS4 had an obscene development cost where they need to sell 1 million copies in one day.

lol Did you really just compare Halo to Killzone?

Holy shit! They beat epic! Maybe in a few years time they'll actually be able to compete with real developers.

Have you seen the Helghan trailer?
There is some discrepancy over how many copies Killzone sold but it varies from as little as 500k copies to just over 2 million in total.

In comparison Halo 3 sold 3.3 million in the first few days and since January this year it's reported at 8.1 million.

Why are people going to buy another game they didn't like in the first place?

Ah! Well done sir.

...Wait, didn't you bought Gears Of Testosterone 2?
Yeah and I was pretty disapointed in it, not just because of the artbook fiasco either. Gears is decent but certainly not the best the 360 has to offer and let's face it, even amongst the 360 hardcore, Cliffy and the Epic Crew are a joke.
