I don't see a 3 anywhere in that trailer. Its a prequel, meaning that it isn't the third game in the series, but a spinoff. Doesn't meet your criteria, which I feel makes all your statements invalid.

It were 5 official games by MicroProse:

UFO: Enemy Unknown (Round based strategy)
XCom: Terror from the Deep (Round based strategy)
XCom: Apocalypse (Round based strategy with optional pausable Realtime)
XCom: Interceptor (Wing Commander-like flying with XCom-like basebuilding)
XCom: Enforcer (Third person shooter. Bad, but hilarious.)

There is also the UFO series (Aftermath, Aftershock, Afterlight) that is very similar, but not part of the IP.
