biology, food and water are the most basic of needs and knowing what is poisonous/rotten and what is edible would be paramount when there are no McDonald's.

I picked Biology Due to something along the lines of this thought.

Could someone explain what AP Science is? And how it's different to regular science?

In any case, I'd say none of them. I would personally look into farming-based sciences, because let's face it. Nature is still going to thrive, no matter what most post-apocalyptic fiction says. The only way you're going to have the nuclear wasteland is if the world is wiped clean by cobalt bombs. And if that happens, no one is surviving the apocalypse, considering that the result would be extremely radioactive and with a half-life of 5.27 years.

It is very possible for all useful vegetation to be killed off but animals still left.
A dust cloud, for example, will allow animals to survive but kill off any real edible plants, causing wide spread starvation.

But when the dust cloud fucks off, the plants will be able to grow again. Unless you use a cobalt bomb, of course, those things were proposed because they can theoretically not only wipe out all life, but make the area too contaminated by nuclear fallout for anything to realistically survive.

However, there is a problem with the cobalt bomb in that you'll need to make enough of them to cover the entire earth.
