When it comes to the many =, many classes in the MMO Gamming World. But deep down, They all seems to role to Warriors, Mage, or scout.

So, if you base on every MMO you play. Are you a Warrior, Mage, or Scout like classes in your MMO.

Actually, it comes down to Tank, Damage and Healer. And of those three I'm usually the Tank.

I prefer a Warrior/Mage hybrid. If I have to choose one of the two, I usually pick mage, unless the race I want to play can't be one.

Damage is usually split to two different classes: DPS and AOE.

There's the Tank (Warrior), DPS (Rogue), AOE (Mage), and Healer (Cleric). Basically the classic D&D classes put into more generic terms.

Warrior/Mage. I will never play a straight Warrior because I will die of boredom. Which is why I love me Paladins in WOW. Druids are a second choice, but they rely on magic more than I would like. I'm also always DPS.

I don't think you play many modern MMOs, do you? Currently it revolves around talent trees to decide if you are AoE or single target

The classes I play are generally magical in nature though I tend to play whichever class looks the most fun. Voted hybrid because the classes tend to be hybrids.

I prefer to play the fast/ranged characters, so I guess scout. However, I also enjoy helping others from the sidelines, so a healing mage is a good choice for me too. I do not like to be in the thick of it because I always feel like I'm never contributing, but providing support I always feel useful and I tend to place at near the top of the list in games because of it.

Any of the three is good, any combination is better. Paladin, ranger, monk... duelist, blade master, spellblade, the list of multi-classes goes on.
When I can, I prefer monk-type characters that favor swift attacks with minimal weapon-usage, but with occasional spell-wielding. Like, spiked/clawed gauntlets buffed with electric attacks, or magically enhanced physical abilities to give me an edge in melee combat.

What would the rouge character count as? You know...they're usually elves with dual blades and they are very agile. They don't do magic, but the long range is usually bow and arrow. Dexterity is the strongest stat for this type of character.

Back when I used to play WoW, I would play a tank kind of character. Admittedly, I don't think I did a very good job at it.

I tried playing as a mage kind of character afterwards, but I got bored after a while and stopped playing.

White Mage. I'm always the White Mage. It doesn't matter what I start out as, I always end up being drafted into White Mage. So I usually just say screw it and go with that from the get-go, because? it's inevitable.

Edit: Even in Borderlands 2 as the Siren it's really just me playing a White Mage with a gun and some suspension power. Everywhere in every game I'm going to end up playing something with healing and doing that primarily. Forever I think - it's my doom.

Fighter (Tank) or Cleric (Healing) tends to be where I end up. Sometimes I play some kind of melee damage (a rogue, if you will) but it's usually a break before doing more of the first two.

In WoW my primary characters were Warrior, Shaman, and later a Druid; besides the Warrior (Classic WoW) and the Shaman (WoTLK/Cataclysm) they always had a primary role of healing or tanking, also the Warrior did a lot of tanking in Classic, just never specialised in it until Burning Crusade.

In Baldur's Gate I typically made a fighter main character, same in Dragon Age. Guess I just hate playing squishies.

Even though I like the feel of playing Mages and Rogues, I always find myself coming back to someone who hits people with big metal things.

Warrior all the way.

Depends on the game for m- oh wait this is mmo only? Why not just make it for all fantasy rpgs? Cuz I don't play mmos much, but I play a lot of rpg s.

I'm usually a rogue or mage. For example in TES games I usually play either a light armoured rogue with daggers, one hand swords and bows or some kind of mage (my most played Skyrim character was a Breton Destruction/Alteration mage). Not a fan of heavy armour.

In contrast I'm currently playing Dark Souls with a medium armoured spear warrior which is surprisingly enjoyable for me. In most other games I don't enjoy warrior types.

I like playing magic most of the time, but I also tend experiment with everything at least once. I would say hybrid. Either magic/melee or magic/ranged.

I'm with you there, MMOs have too many patches for my bad internet.
So ignoring the MMO rule.

[sub][sub]... I want better internet.[/sub][/sub]

I'll usually choose warrior if I had to choose one class.
If I can subclass/whatever like in Dragon Age: Origins, I'll be a dual-wielding warrior. (Which better be in Inquisition!)

If I am playing something like Skyrim, I will usually be a warrior, but I will vary classes when I start to play the guild questlines.
In my off-time I can play mage too ... because I love dat lightning magic! :D

I always like Everquest because it was the original MMO trinity and it had nothing to do with dps. Tank, Heal and Crowd Control were the needed things in group. Bringing Buffers/Debuffer who could heal. Then you had to decide on if you wanted pure dps or if you wanted some extra functionality. Wizards could burst dps, Rogues were pure DPS, but helpful for dungeons. I loved all the different options, seems like the further into MMO's you get the less of a choice you have.

Mage, I guess? I typically play the healer role, which doesn't usually fall under "Mage", but certainly isn't a Scout or Warrior. My back-up character is usually a Necromancer, so even if we're discounting healing for some strange reason, I still end up as a Mage.

I guess "scout."
Anything that lets me fire off a lot of quick attacks suplemented with damage over time (poison/bleed) and stun effects makes me a happy camper.

I like knowing that even if I die or switch targets I'm still helping to ruin someone's day.

A close second would be mage I guess. But they need to bring something new to the table beyond just spell slinging. One of the main reasons I love WoW Warlocks is it lets me stay back and play all kinds of dirty tricks while my daemon makes life difficult in the front line.
