OMG! This is the only poll I've ever seen with 42 yes votes, 100%. C'mon all the "no" people, I know you are out there somewhere...

and I'm assuming textbooks and compulsory reading doesn't count. Niether does magzines and internet articles. But E-books and audio books does count.

Military history books mainly though I will happily read fiction books if they strike my interest though I'm not up to forcing myself to read fiction I'm not really interested in.

I like to read a lot of different things: Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Patricia Cornwell, Nelson DeMille, Douglas Adams , Michael Chricton, and so on and so on...

I like some classic stuff as well. (If you've never read "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley, you are doing yourself a disservice.)

I just recently discovered "Wicked" by Gregory Maguire which offers a very different take on a very familiar story. It's been developed into a Broadway musical but with some pretty big plot changes.

I have to say that my favorite series has to be the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. It's hard for me to pin down a favorite book in the series, but I am anxiously awaiting the final installment slated to come out October of this year.

We're all fairly avid readers here on The Escapist.

Most of my favorite books fall under Gaslamp Fantasy, Action/Adventure or Horror. I'm not big on novels that don't have some excitement ih them.

Recent favorites are: Sun of Suns by Karl Schroder, The Judas Strain and Amazonia by James Rollins, The Age of Unreason Quartet by Gregory Keyes, The Rosetta Key by William Dietrich, The El Borak Stories and The Solomon Kane stories by Robert E. Howard.

I also love reading Sherlock Holmes stories/novels and I'm gradually working through both the Jules Verne books and the works of Alexander Dumas.

Mostly a fiction reader, but I will read non-fiction books; biographies on famous people, history books. In the end it's all stories. And human beings are obsessed with stories and story telling.

Wow. Anyone here that doesn't like to read? Anyone at all?

I've come to the point that I'm pining for new releases. Yes, I now pine for new movies, new videogames AND books. My life is hell. Ohh, just a few more weeks... [http://www.amazon.com/Judging-Eye-R-Scott-Bakker/dp/1590201698/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232638714&sr=8-1]

I'm a fiction person, though mythology/ legends/ ghost themed books can often be very interesting. I tend to avoid deep and meaningful books and go straight for the action genre. My favorite author is, without question, Matthew Reilly. 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was actually a really good book as well. It's the only book I remember from all the ones we had to read for school. It's really in a class of it's own with respect to how it was written.

Yeah, I've recently been reading through the dark tower series and I'm enjoying every minute of it. Unfortunately I'm probably not going to have time to read for pleasure once I go back to school. It just never works out.

I try to read a lot, but I don't read enough. My to read list is loooong. Mostly I read fantasy and dystopian novels, but almost anything genre can catch my interest. My favourite series is Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson.

I'm quite into my reading although I wish I could read more.

I usually end up reading the books that my favorite films are based on. Currently reading Requiem for a dream which is amazing!

I read a lot, but since starting university, I've had to tone down the fiction a bit. There's just not that much time for it.
