I don't read a whole lot but when i find a book i like i get obsessed and carry it around till i finish it, I've finished the first three books in the "strong bow saga" and yahtzee's "Mogworld"(Great book, i'd actually laughed out loud while reading and catch my friends staring at me with curiosity) I'm currently waiting for the forth book in the strong bow series as well as the bioshock novel next month.

Just wondering how many Escapists read...

Other Topic: What are some good books?
Since I stopped working I read a lot less, but I still probably finish a book every couple of months and wind up doing 6 or so a year, sometimes more, depends on what's out there. To be honest the fact that I have trouble remaining focused on anything hurts my reading too, I can barely stay focused on video games and such for any length of time, which is one of the reasons why I spend so much time on message forums.

That said, I tend to read a lot of horror novels nowadays, as well as most of what guys like Jim Butcher put out. In the past I've done things like read pretty much Clive Barker's entire body of work (well at the time). I used to like sword and sorcery and science fiction a lot more, but I got kind of burned out on it which is why I turned to horror I guess. Been reading a lot of Edward Lee nowadays even if his stuff is relatively difficult to find given that he winds up publishing through tiny houses like Necro Press, Deadite Press, etc...

While a bit on the arty side, I also recommend a book called "House Of Leaves" by a guy called Mark Z. Danielewski which really needs to be read to be appreciated, kind of slow... but interesting. Can't remember having read anything quite like it.

Yeah, I read books. I usually keep one in my bag, and a stack on my desk. Over the past week, I went from having 12 unread books to having only 6. As for good books, well, it depends on your definition of good. There are probably books that everyone agrees to be objectively good, but you won't be getting the list from me.

I do enjoy reading and I often have one nearby. I've just gotten back into the Wheel of Time series myself.

I've got about fifty or so books in my collection (Twenty of them Stephen King), and go to the library to get new ones out every couple of weeks. I usually go through a five hundred page book every four or so days. I get a decent amount of downtime at work, so spend that reading, at at least an hours at home every day.

iBooks for my iPhone is awesome.

I have all 7 Artemis Fowl[footnote]Get them, read them, love them[/footnote] books on it and have read them uncountable times. It's so easy to pick up and read off the iPhone on a bus or break at work.

The Malazan Book of the Fallen series is pretty gosh-darned epic. Anyone who has an even mild inclination towards fantasy fiction should check it.

The Heralds of Valdemar... I'm reading Lackey's new concotion as we speak. I'm also reading the Maximum Ride saga. Percy Jackson is good too, and has the fourth book for the inheritance cycle come out yet?

Anything by Stephen King is really good, definitely my favorite author. I would recommend Duma Key or Needful Things. Or if you like it a bit darker, Pet Cemetery

Holy shit. I am the only one who has never really read a book all the way through. O.O

But, come to think of it, I remember one book I forced myself into reading back in the 3rd/4th grade or something. Some 100 pages or so in bigger-than-small letters. I think my mark depended on it, and internet wasn't yet much available in our country. But that was such a long time ago. Almost feel like I swore to never read again, haha.

Detective novels (Lee Child) and fantasy (Wizards of the Coast) are my primary reading material since I think that good sci-fi is hard to find. Kurt Vonnegut is also magnificent but I'm not sure which category he would be in.

Yes, I read. Too much for my own good, probably. I'm one of those weirdos who goes out to the midnight releases and reads books straight through, then waits about a week and reads them again.

So by your definition, "Anthem" by Ayn Rand doesn't count as a book? It's only 93 pages, so is it a short story? That's quite a long short story.
If it's good than sure, it can count as a book...
