Commando. While he's not quite as good at the ludicrous rate of fire and infinite magazine size as Roland was, I'm finding my vladof is still belching lead like the best of them. First few ranks in the gunpowder tree to get the longbow turret, maxed mag size and metal storm for my rifles, now I'm going guerrilla to get more guns for the turret.

Been playing as Zero. Only got him up to about mid twenties so far, other commitments and that. Have been speccing into melee mainly, with some points put towards raising sniper crit damage. I do find that I often get mauled without a tank though.

I don't really have a favorite, all of them are pretty awesome.

But the ones I have played the most are Commando and Siren. Siren because she's a girl and I tend to play those more often than guys in games nowadays and Axton because turrets everywhere.

I haven't gotten too far though, so I don't know how enemies are at later levels.

Looking forward to trying out the mechromancer and seeing how I would spec her if I went deep into the anarchy tree. Looks interesting enough for me anyway.

I love sniping, and I love shotguns. Zero is amazing with both, so I took him for a spin on my first go. Been dabbling around with Maya the Siren though and I'm thoroughly enjoying her. If I get around to finishing everything on Zero before the Mechromancer comes out, I'll do a run through with Maya, otherwise I can't wait to get my hands on some robotics.

Haven't played it yet, but if the first game is anything to go by, I'd avoid melee attacks altogether, as they don't scale. That was the problem with Brick in the first game. There comes a point when your guns will outright surpass melee damage. Plus if you used melee primarily, your weapon proficiencies will be shot. Not sure if there are still WP's in this game though,
Most characters melee isn't great but it stays a half decent desperation attack when you get rushed by psychos.

According to my roommate a properly built Zero becomes completely broken with melee in the first playthrough. Less so on True Vault Hunter Mode.

Weapon Proficiencies are gone. Replaced by Badass challenges that let you get permanent stat boosts that affect EVERY character on your profile.

Wow, got to say, I'm surprised by how few gunzerkers I'm seeing. I've been playing as him lately and he is just a beast. He can't die and with dual-wielding can deal massive damage.

Seeing a lot of people that played Zero and seem to regret it. I'm around mid 20s with him now, focusing on sniping. I really enjoy him, but he relies on a team a lot more. Without some solid teammates to tank or distract, he wouldn't work nearly as well. He can deal some fantastic damage if you can reliably crit, love instant kills. Just wish there wasn't so much melee enemies that can jump across the map. I use his ability almost exclusively for escaping to find another good sniper spot. I admit, it isn't as fun as the other 3 abilities.

Siren is still my favorite though. Having a phaselock right in the middle of a cluster of enemies with every element exploding around it is hard to beat.

I play as a gunzerker and I'm very surprised by how little other people appear to play that class here. Gunzerkers are absolutely awesome! Dual wielding guns (and all the other bonusses) increases your damage so much it's hardly even funny anymore. I co-op with my brother who plays a commando and so far we've absolutely wrecked everything. I wipe out one section and he does another.

The combination of your weapons doesn't matter. What tree you pick doesn't matter. Everything works and you're powerful however you want to play. Why wouldn't you?!

I think the lack of the Gunzerker love is because he is kind of weak in the beginning. I remember playing with him and getting killed while reloading in the middle of a gunzerker rage and thinking ugh. But once you work your way down the trees and start putting the right skills in place he is bananas. Around 20 or so he starts getting ridiculous and gets even stronger from there. If you go down the middle tree you can literally walk around gunzerking whenever you want and for long periods of time.

Assassin only cause my strategy is melee combat. Dissapointed that Gunzerker class strayed far from Bezerker clas cause I always like to get up close and personal to my victims.

Ah, that makes sense. I wasn't really put off by being a little weaker in the beginning because MMORPG's have taught me that whenever skill trees are involved, shit doesn't get interesting till you've put a few points in. Having a co-op partner really helps as well.

When I gunzerk I actually always get up close and personal. Gunzerking increases your damage resistance and several skills improve your survivability even more. I just get up in their face with two shotguns and there you go.

True, I guess I was spoiled by the commando. I felt lonely without the twins and I was using him to solo.

Maya with the cataclysm skill tree, it's like everything I touch burns corrodes or gets electrocuted and slaged or all of those.

The Commando is my first choice. I'm using the Gunzerker too, and I like him, but not as much. I'm planning on doing playthroughs with Assassin and Mechromancer.

I fucking love being the gunzerker it suits my play style in these types of games shoot until empty then switch guns. Plus all my friends I've been playing with have picked the other characters.

I was maining on commando, but since the mechromancer has come out, i've switched. I find the mechro much better than the turret, just need to give him some buffs from spec.s
