Win. It's an oft-funny game that WILL keep you playing through, looking for the next gun.

Not many games has a shotgun marked as "Holy Crap! It shoots rockets!"

Somebody really aught to tell you about game review compilation sites [http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/borderlands?q=borderlands].

You don't trust critical reviews and would rather get a percentage out of your fellow gamers, you say? Well, they actually have tabulated user votes immediately below the critic review list, and it's actually pretty darn close to what you see right here in your own poll.

Fail-Win is far to binary to be a good poll.

Your poll sucks and i refuse to use it until there are better options.

OT: it is both, it fails at being a single player game with story. But it is so far beyond win in the multi-player shoot'em'up area that it more than makes up for it. In other words, i'm happy i shelled out for it.
what he said /\

Oh and also all the in jokes are great, like them obviously being Invader Zim fans, because all the claptraps are total rip offs of gir, or the Rak called Rakanishu (anyone played Diablo2 will get that).

Mind you multiplayer hosting can suck to start with, but once you open the millions of ports all is fine (lucky i aready had most of them open from playing UT3)
There's a ton of movie references too with the gun titles.

A sniper rifle called "Rider" that has a mod called "you'll shoot your eye out!"
A shotgun with a mod called "Boom Stick" with a mod call "beyond groovey"
A pistol called "The Dove" that never needs reloading. It's a reference to all those movies with doves flying around as the hero's shoot more bullets than their clips could possibly ever hold.

OT: The game is a hands-down epic-win in my book. I wish the game wasn't so hollow on the story and lore, but it's impossible to be done playing this game, even after you beat it. That does not make sense! Games are supposed to end, and then make you want to play something else! If not, they should at least make you want to start over and enjoy it again, but not keep playing the same game pointlessly.

It's Diablo 2 with guns, how can that not be a win?
That's seriously EXACTLY what it is. If you did not like diablo you will not like this game.
I loved it, online is so awesome, since on the PC version you can use your single player character.

Them calling it an RPG pisses me off. People will staple RPG to anything just to attract the attention of a few more people, and I'm sick of it. "Ooooh, look, you can choose whether your guns should make more damage or have more bullets, and you can choose a skillset. That's roleplaying" No it isn't. I don't play a role, I shoot people and choose talents. There is no talking to anyone, choosing what to say. No picking a side. No choosing if someone should live or die, apart from not shooting someone and letting them kill you. at least not where I got to before I got sick of it. It's as much RPG as TF2 is RPG, or any game where you can carry a limited amount of items, so you have to choose what to carry around, that's RPG too now, apparently.

it's a great game, but unless you got friends to play with it quickly gets boring to do more playthroughs on your alts. can't wait for the dlc to come out for pc though, gonna be sweet.

It was completely fun until you beat the game and wonder, "Now what? PLay it again?" the major leg that this game is missing is multiplayer. not duels but MULTIPLAYER. So many of the bad guy compounds would be excellent levels to go 8v8 so why. why is there no Multiplayer?

I have Borderlands for the 360. I don't have Live.

I voted "Win", solely for split-screen co-op.

Despite the considerable strain on my marriage that playing co-op with my husband creates, it's the first time I've ever played a shooting game for more than ten minutes without getting hopelessly pissed off with the lack of plot and endlessly repeated shooty scenarios.

It looks nice, and even I could get the hang of it.

It's win, most fun I've had for a while, though the last boss is utterly shit, if you get bored of misjudging attacks, just hide behind a slightly raised piece of wall and pelt at its tentacles for a while until it dies.

Anti-climactic to say the least, really, still, a very enjoyable game though, whether in SP or with friends online, I had very few problems getting the MP to work on PC, though that's probably just me.

It's win until the final boss.

Then it's fail.

Horrible, anticlimactic, start over from the beginning fail.
This exactly.

And I was really enjoying the DLC until I got to THAT last boss with his extremely cheap 'fly across the room towards you spinning in circles and ram you into wall until you die' tactic. And realising I'd been carefully extracting zombie brains throughout the DLC to find out if you don't get the quest that requires them straight away, you lose all the brains you were carrying. I easily had over a fucking thousand ;-;

But detracting from that, any old school D2 player who enjoys the odd FPS would enjoy it, even the most die hard Warcraft fan would enjoy it, merely for the delicious stat mods on guns alone and comparing them to the stupidly mind boggling amounts of different guns with different stats.

The voice acting is pretty funny too. "And by friend, I mean the bastard that ruined my momma's girly parts"

It's passable. It's not the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's fun, but ultimately there's no real driving force or motivation behind your actions.

8/10 tops.

It is fun to play however.

So that's a 'win' then.

I dunno, it just didn't do anything for me, thought something good's come out of it, I'm lending it to my friend, and he's lending me Assassins's Creed 2 :D

It's Win in Co-op, slightly less win in single player.
So yes in co-op, yes in Single Player, basically.
I hope you refer to co-op as in: playing with friends you can trust. Because my online experiences in this game were a disaster. Loot hogging, high level characters entering just to grief you and duel and people being anywhere but where they were supposed to go.

I have yet to find anyone worthwile to play this game online with. Solo play has been good enough for me.
