Poll: Bow ties ARE cool.

Ok, this is quite a self indulgent thread for anyone who watches Doctor Who, but, ok guys, the Doctor keeps telling us 'bow ties are cool' but are they? What do you think?

Does it depend who is wearing it (for example I think Matt Smith looks great in a bow tie, as does Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones Films)?

Is it uncool because of the stigma surounding it that conjours images of bearded professors in labcoats?

As you can tell I think they are cool on certain people but I wanna hear what you guys think.

Excepting James Bond, I've never seen someone look good in a bow-tie. And James Bond can make anything look good, so really, no mortal can.

Therefore: Bow-ties ≠ cool.

Matt Smith makes the bow tie look sexy.
I think they look cool, but it depends who is wearing them. Matt looks very old fashioned in my opinion, so he pulls it off quite nicely. I had to wear one for a performance and had no use of it after so made it into a bow.

Seriously, there is a person out there that can pull off any look, and still be awesome, but that doesn't mean that whatever they are wearing is cool, it just means it doesn't make them dorky.

If something is cool conditionally (who is wearing them for example) then it isn't cool. It just means the person can prevent look stupid wearing it. It doesn't make the article of clothing any less stupid.

I'd forgotten about James Bond! He totally makes bow ties look cool, that is to say he's ice cool when he wears a bow tie and tux(especially Roger Moore). (Hold on, is looking cool in a bow tie and making bow ties look cool the same thing?)

When he said why bowties aren't cool I assumed that they would be uncool because of how popular they are, It didn't make sense to me to say that 99% of people Can't pull off bowties which makes them uncool. Hell if you're that .1% then you're pretty fucking cool for pulling that off
