I get my braces off half way through my gap year. God. What a pain.
They're not that bad and my friends don't mind. It's just such a long time for something which is borderline necessary and mostly cosmetic.

I had braces for about 9 months back when I was 13/14. I got off pretty lightly when it came to it. Though I did have a tooth come loose while I was still wearing them, so I had that just rattling around in my mouth for a couple of days while it was still attached to the wire.
I used to have braces. My view in retrospect has been that they were absolutely not worth it. But, that's just my opinion. Sometimes people even tell me I have nice teeth. Personally speaking, I've never really cared too much what someone's teeth looked like as long as they weren't brown and falling out, but, if you think that having nice teeth is something that you really care about then braces might be worth it for you.
I may need to get braces. I have to have my wisdom teeth removed. After three or four months they'll see if I need to get braces.
I got incredibly lucky actually. My doctor pulled four teeth that were interfering with others, and my teeth naturally aligned themselves perfectly afterward. So yeah, no braces for me.
i want em because i have horrible teeth. i think its more of a luxury than a necessity. so if you dont want em. take em off simple as that.
There's only one barely noticeable imperfection with my teeth so it was not worth getting a bracer. I can feel it with my tongue but no matter how hard someone looks they don't seem to notice.
they basically suck,and it gets worse after the orthodontist decides that because one molar is one millimeter too far back they need to stay on for six more months. Oh, and every time i go there it takes at least an hour for the orhto guy to get around to looking at my mouth and saying, well, tie in the 4 and the 6, and keep everything else the same. I've wasted a good 12 hours of my life staring at the ceiling in that place
I had braces 10 or 15 years ago. They left permanent scratches & stains on my teeth & then I got my wisdom teeth removed & my teeth moved as a result, undoing most of the brace's work & giving me a bit of an overbite. To this day, I can still remember the tight pulling sensation & the pain of the underlip rubbing against the metal. Unless your teeth are seriously f**ked up, don't get braces.
I've had braces since April 15th 2009. And they do truly suck.
You constantly get food stuck in them, you can't eat caramel or apples or chewy ribs, it's a pain in the ass to brush your teeth and floss, and if you have to have them, rubber bands are not fun.
Thank god my orthodontist said I might get them off before Halloween.

I had them. Got them off about two and a half years ago now. I'm really glad to not have to deal with them now, but when I first got them off, when the retainers were a pain in the ass because I had to wear them all day, every day, and had to take them off to eat or drink, then I kinda missed my braces.
