I can't say that I have, but I have a friend ho once threw his controller on the table and it bounced up and left a large crack on his $900 TV.

Once. I got Left 4 Dead 2 on one of those "Free Play Weekends", and the lag was so bad, I spazzed. It's still impossible for me to play on Versus because of the lag.

HaHaha. I remember in college back in the day we had a friend who kept his computer in our room so he could come in and play Quake with us. We were in the middle of a clan vs. clan match when he flipped out and wiped out his mouse.

So here we are in a match and he is running around the hall trying to borrow a mouse. It was funny as all get out since we still managed to win. Just barely.

When I mean broken controller rage I mean anything breaking, throwing headsets, throwing cups/cans, smashing/breaking glass etc.

If you do, what were you playing that made you rage so hard?

The other night I was playing gta4 on the last mission...
where you had to chase pegorino along the shoreline with a freaking dirt bike while he was on a boat, and if anyone has played it, you will know how terrible the physics are and how god damned long it take to get back up after your bike flips, i kept failing at the motorcycle part(did I mention I have to fight through a horde of henchmen to get there?) and I got so pissed I threw my headset and controller and turned off my console.
I got stuck with that same mission.

My advice? After youve killed the henchmen go to the burger shot and arms dealer to get health and weapons.

And shitty physics? There far from shitty.

Oh god yes. Only certain things that are incredibly frustrating but that I always come crawling back to (IE MGO). I remember I threw the disk of Battlefield: Bad Company into the wall so hard that it shattered to pieces but I was so pissed off with the lag that I didn't actually care and never thought of it as a waste of money. I've gone through like three PS3 controllers though. Those things are expensive.

I get enraged sometimes on Modnation Racers and might throw my controller into the sofa, but it hasn't broken yet (Although one of the triggers was once shot into the air at bullet speed, but wasn't broken).

Occasionally.
I have holes in my walls, My wardrobe covers most of them at the moment luckily.
My current 360 pad is also a bit fucked after two lobs, a couple bangs and other general violation.

It was whatever game's I was playing at the time's fault though. Totally.

Besides Gaming is my only rage outlet I'm generally a calm person.

I used to do that all the time when I was younger. I broke SO many N64 controllers. Now I have some self control, however. I can't remember the last time I threw one.

Yeah, sometimes, but its my hardware when I try to play a game that pisses me off, does that count?
Computer is just not as equipped as it used to be, and its frustrating going through a pain in the ass level, and a cut scene forces the computer to restart. Got into the habit of instead of hitting something, I softly slap the top of the desk a few time, then go find something else to do.

Only headsets.

Usually caused by Squeakers who claim your a "noob ******" when you get kill them. Among other names anyway.

I haven't done this in years, probably since before a lot of you were born, but when I was a kid my NES and SNES controllers had a lot of teeth marks in them. I used to swing them by the cords and slam them into the ground too but I think I only ever broke one of each. The NES controllers were sturdy little bricks and I was growing out of that kind of thing by the time the SNES came around. Then I was a teen and had to start working on destroying my life. :D

I used to, before they started giving me ADHD pills that ruined my life with their godawful side effects that prevent the body from producing dopamine, among other things.

Now I'm only capable of staying mad for about 5 seconds before returning to my usual state of bored nonchalantness -_-

Now reflex rage is something else....I will lash out at anything that causes me pain when I bump into it. A file cabinet gave me a nice little scratch & I gave it a nice big dent.

Thankfully no, but I'm getting pretty close to it thanks to the first level in Bayonetta.... Bloody timed mission thing made me rage quit a half dozen times by now.

It happens every now and then, although I really have calmed down lately. Over the years a few appliances has had to feel my wrath. I headbutted my original Game Boy and cracked the screen, I punched my computer, disfiguring the DVD-drive, I slammed my PS2-controller (playing God of War 2) into a wooden floor which left a fairly impressive dent and finally I hurled my 360-controller into a wall after losing against a very lame opponent on Soul Calibur 4.

After that I decided that if I keep this up it might get costly, plus I always get extremely regretful afterward. So now whenever I feel I'm getting a bit too annoyed I either quit playing for a while or restrain myself before I do anything stupid. All in all though I would say that I have calmed down significantly over the last few years.

Sometimes I throw the controller at a soft surface, like a bunch of pillows or a couch, but I've never broken anything.

Once, never again shall it happen. Although I do hit my keyboard regularly, to keep it alert... It only cost 50 rand (<$7) and I can always put the control key back in.

My poor PS2 controller, broken it was.

No. because, no matter how rage inducing a game is, i bought that controller and i'm sure as hell not going to willfully break something i paid good money for.
