Am I the only one thinking, throw a phone to the man/woman then rescue the kid and the person you never threw the phone to?

Or knock on a few houses and get some people to help?

Edit. I would save the kid and woman, kid has it's life to lead and woman, well how many straight lads are going to pick the man?

I have a better question, your driving past a bus stop and see an old guy coughing his lungs out, your best friend and a nice looking lady, who do you give a lift to?

Get your best mate to give the old guy a lift to the hospital and you get the bus with the lady

The child and the woman. Statistically they will have longer lives than the old person and hence will contribute more to society. The old rich person's only virtue is that they are rich, and this monetary value will be passed down to their descendants.

If the only person was a scientist or great thinker however, I would be more inclined to save them than the woman... I supposed I would need an IQ value for each of the people in the house before I could make an informed decision. Objectively I would save those most like to contribute to the world. The child has the potential, but I wouldn't want to lose 2 geniuses...

So many variables...

Neither. I save the building by 'rescuing' the fire.

(Those of you who've read the Discworld novel I'm referencing should now be laughing.)
What it is escapes me, but I guarantee that I have it on my shelf.

I would sort by age. I bloody hate kids but you have to give them a chance of life. And the woman could be beautiful or have a face like a smacked arse, she would be next. Sorry older person - I would hope that they had lived long enough to learn the wisdom of my choice.

I would go to the room where the smoke and fire is the worst and save that person, then go to the next worst and fight the fire back, grab the third person, and go back for the second person.

Or, alternatively, save the woman and send her for the kid while I get the old man.

Been so long I forgot which one it was. It was Maskerade.
