I can swim just fine, but never learned to ride a bike. 5-year-old me was a stubborn little bastard, but unfortunately stubborn about doing whatever takes the smallest possible amount of effort. Whatever, never really been a skill I've needed, so no great loss.
I can do both. And i find doing either quite fun. Especially swimming. Something about swimming just feels.... great. One of the few sport-ish things i enjoy doing. Water feels great, what can i say.
I`m not sure when or where i learned to swim, but i do remember going to a swimming pool from a very early age, since one of my grandparents worked there. And they did teach swimming in school, as well.

I don't really understand not being able to swim or ride a bike. I'm sorry, but I just don't. Both happen almost by themselves and I'm not saying that just because I've learned to do both and they feel easy to me but because the laws of physics work that way. Human being is pretty much buoyant and a bike is really determined not to fall down when it's moving. I just don't see the problem. Sure you might have a medical condition or live in an area where there's not much use/opportunity to learn but other than that it baffles me.

I got swimming lessons from a very early age and was always able to swim. Cycling came at the same time, I kept trying despite being covered in cuts and one day it .just clicked for me and I could cycle perfectly. Never could cycle with no hands though
I can do both. Living on the coast of Australia, it's hard to avoid the beach culture. It's kind of considered a bit weird if you can't swim here... I don't ride my bike anywhere near as often as I should.
i live in london, and my dad is from amsterdam (which i frequently vist) so i come from two places with very rich bicycle cultures. and i can swim because i can, though i like it less than cycling
I can swim like a fish and love it, but I can't ride a bike to save my life. I never learned. I never owned a bike. I have a feeling my grandmother bought me one once with training wheels on but I seemed to keep falling off that. Then I don't think my mum let me on a bike again after my sister rode into a wall on hers...
SO yeah. I'd love to learn to ride a bike. But I prefer scooters and rollerblading seems like a better waste of my time than learning to bike ride.

I swim like a fucking rock, but I can ride a bike all day long. I started riding a bike in the mountains so I'm pretty good even on tiny little trails in the middle of nowhere. It's funny that I never learned how to swim I grew up in Florida surrounded by beaches & lakes & plenty of other places to play in the water, but I still never learned to swim.
I can swim and ride a bike. Woooo, look at me. I think learning to swim should be a necessity for a majority of children growing up, even if they don't end up going near water too often.
My husband can swim, but he doesn't know how to ride a bike. Then again, when I was learning to ride bikes he was riding horses and learning to shoot guns on his families cattle ranch- so....I think his milestone is a bit more awesome.

I'm not sure where i stand on my ability to swim. I think I could paddle for about 15 metres, but I'm not sure if I could tread water for any decent period of time. I guess that means I can't swim. As an Australian, it's really not acceptable, but eh, I can't really fix that shit now.

Bike riding is a hobby of mine, I try to ride at least an hour a day.
Swimming is something that I can do, but haven't done in years. I was never a super strong swimmer but I can at least get the job done.

I absolutely love being in large bodies of water, it feels very liberating. I learned to swim very early, and was actually a member of my city's water-polo team for a couple of years. Unfortunately, (I don't know if there's something wrong with my ears or something) I can't go deeper than about 4 metres underwater. It hurts.
I used to cycle everywhere non-stop as a kid. It's something you never lose, and -unlike swimming- I don't think there's really that much of a skill range beyond 'can/can't do it'.
