Big Ben isn't a clock, it's the bell... Just sayin'.

Anyway someone is bound to say that is accepted in common usage, which goes to prove when enough people are wrong they become right.

EDIT: I'm 36, of course I can tell the time, and drive a manual, and its is the possessive and it's is it is.

Really? Of course I can, you would have to be really stupid to not be able to read a damn clock.

I prefer analogue clocks because for some reason i can better "feel" the time, like when a digital clock says 8:35 that's just information, but when i look at an analogue clock i "feel" that it's 8:35... Hard to explain.

I can read any form of clock. The only type that trips me up are the ones that have just 4 markers (on 12, 3, 6, and 9) and hands without anything else. I can figure it out in a couple of seconds but just the fact that I have to think it through (and estimate *gahh*) frustrates me.

Yeppers! I actually prefer analogue watches for some reason (although I think I'd be annoyed if my computer/DVD player/microwave/etc. weren't digital). I do wonder whether they still teach kids to use analogue clocks in school, though; last time one of my teachers tried that was in first grade, iirc, so 1991; twenty years (god, that makes me feel old, even though I know someone'll come up and say "you think you're old, at barely a quarter century?") is plenty of time for a practice to fall out of favor sufficiently to stop being taught as a matter of course.

I've met a few people who are unable to read analogue clocks, which I found really baffling.
Although I suppose I make telling time quite hard here in my own room. There are two clocks (not counting pc or other devices) a digital alarm and a mechanical ball clock thing which is really cool but quite confusing for some, and both are set to PIT (Pilf's Inconsistant Time).

Yeah if everything is properly placed.

I hate those fucking obscure classy "art" watches that have nothing but 4 fucking dials (or none at all)and you're supposed to estimate what the time is.

Bullshit like this I can't read:

It's WTF??? o' clock. Yeah, those type of watches are more for show, in which case, why not just buy a bracelet of some sort?

Yes, I can...even with out the numbers and/or markers on the face. Although sometimes it's tricky when there are just the dands and no numbers/marks. Totally can't read it when I'm drunk hehe.

If you just need an estimate those are see functional - that's approximately 10:06:38, and if you only need to know the time to ~5 minutes a watch like that will work well enough at a glance.

This isn't to say it doesn't look silly and overly artsy, but I do think it's functional.

I personally love analog clocks; in fact I'm sort of starting my own collection here
Same here. There is just something about analog clocks I just love. I've always had a fasination with them. I just recently found out there is a clock shop near where I live and I'm heading there as soon as I've got some cash to spend.

Yes I can read analogue clocks. That's how I was taught how to tell the time when I was a kid. I assumed that everyone learnt to tell the time on analogue clocks, as opposed to the 24 hour (digital) clocks.

Yes, but it takes me a while :p It's actually kind of embarrassing how out of practice I get from just looking at my digital watch.

Yes I can read them. I prefer digital because then I don't have to do any math to figure out the time.
