Neither since they changed.

Before 2000, probably Cartoon Network, back when they did "Cartoons".
This is basically what I came here to say.

I mean, Cartoon Network had Dexter's Lab and Cow & Chicken - Nickelodeon had Rugrats which, though it was awesome, couldn't stand up to the awesomeness of Cartoon Network's stuff.

For the longest time I watched Nick and could only see Cartoon Network through satellite or my grandparents, and once my cable company finally noticed another Turner network they forgot to add in low and behold I watched it more than Nick, but now that Cartoon Network has become CN(though adding back Looney Tunes and other nostalgia as a way to make up for certain failures)and Nick is following the money making religion of Spongebob and making "Tween" sitcoms I spend most time ignoring them for internet and more competent networks like USA.

The old Cartoon Network could kick Nick's ass, but ever since Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab ended it's been downhill. Nick has iCarly, which is kind of hilarious, but Cartoon Network has Chowder, which I love also. Therefore, I'd say it's pretty even.

Adult Swim gives older viewers shows. I enjoyed Venture Brothers, Morel Orel, Robot Chicken, Brak Show, and SeaLab.

Cartoon Network. In the 90's, they were kings.

Now, with that "CN Real" shit, they are dead to me.

CN has metalocalypse,
if Hitler had metalocalypse I would convert to his side.

Growing up, I watched a lot of both channels, but I think I was more of a Cartoon Network kid than anything else. Nick had some great shows, but as I recall, CN had shows that were funny and packed with action. Looney Toons, Freakazoid, Samurai Jack, Johnny Bravo, Thundercats, Johnny Quest... Such an incredible amount of diversity.

Also, I owe CN's original incarnation of Toonami a debt of gratitude for introducing me to the world of anime at large. Up until that point, the only eastern animation I'd ever seen was Speed Racer, and I didn't even know it wasn't American. Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon, Gundam Wing and Yu Yu Hakusho remain some of my favorites to this day.

It breaks my heart that the channel's fallen so far. I'm sad to say there isn't a single program in their lineup that I would watch voluntarily. My little cousins seem to enjoy Flapjack and Chowder, and that's great for them... But those shows are garbage compared to what CN used to run. At least they still show Looney Toons... Even if it is just an hour or two a day.

used to be nick till the teen push awhile ago, i didnt have cartoon network till i was a teen so i switched over to where cartoon network when i got it, currently its still better on question, nicktoons network is a little better (than regular nick) since they have, El tigre, Avatar, and Xmen, but they dont play enough of their back catalogue ether.

For a little while they played it for an hour sundays at noon, not any more, its a shame considering they play less than 10 differnt shows any way its not like they dont have air space.

Edit: All right i just checked, I got in 2000.

They both suck, but if you asked me 10 years ago, I'd say Cartoon Network.

Hell, CN still wins because it has Adult Swim.

Yes, when Cartoon Network cut Toonami they committed entertainment value suicide. I think I cried that night.

In memory, Cartoon Network. Today... neither, they have both killed great cartoons and replaced them with trash. Now I'm sad, too many good memories.

I waver up and down the channels between CN, Nicktoons, and Disney XD.

CN has definitely went in a fairly lame direction by forsaking their cartoon origins. Flippin' Turner Broadcast Media should have enough money to shell out for another station to air their crappy kid reality TV and old hit movie stuff. Ah well, they still crank out a few good series: Chowder, The Misadventures Of Flapjack, Venture Brothers, and lets not forget Johnny Test.

Nicktoons is sort of morbid since they primarily air old, awesome shows that they no longer make new episodes for: El Tigre, My Life As A Teenage Robot, Mighty B (they might still be making these), Ren & Stimpy (late night once a week). Wish they still aired Angry Beavers - alas, no.

Disney XD is a bit less Disney elitist than the main channel and fills a similar niche that Nicktoons does for Nick (airing the old but good) in addition to airing some high profile superhero shows of yesteryear (e.g. X-Men, Gargoyles, ect). I primarily watch them for Phineas and Ferb (relatively genius) Kid Vs Kat (rather young but clever slapstick) Jimmy Two Shows (oddly forgettable yet somehow enticing), Monster Buster Club (excellent CGI series, albeit a bit young). Their live action shows should be avoided like the plague - surreally, it's like they're the painfully cheesy pantomimes of real life and the cartoons are more realistic intelligent counterpart.

Well right now they're both total shit. But back when I was a kid, they were equally awesome. Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, were all Cartoon Network. Angry Beavers, Rocko's Modern Life, All That, Invader Zim were all on Nickelodeon. I miss the days of good cartoons.
Yes! but don't forget dexter's laboratory :D

I say Nick because of Invader Zim.

But then again CN has Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. And Teen Titians. And Ed, Edd and Eddy. And Dexter's Lab.

I personally don't really like either, but I'd have to say I prefer CN. Simply because the pure, uninspired idiocy that is Spongebob is on Nick, and they also cancelled Invader Zim.

The only thing I will give Nick is Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is unquestionably the most amazing show ever made. But Nick is so amazingly terrible beyond that, I show no love for the channel.
