I used to play for challenge but now I have fewer hours to devote to gaming so I prefer to play for fun. It doesn?t stop me from completely beating all 100% of a game like the obsessive compulsive I am, I just don?t enjoy it as much as something I can pick up and play for fun for a bit. Games that are really challenging just kind of feel like a job or a choir to me any more.

Overall I guess I prefer "fun" but if a game is waaayyyy to easy I stop having it (glares at Prince of Persia's battles)

I don't have fun unless I'm challenged.

Unless I can die over and over and listen to sound R2-D2 makes when he dies in Lego Star Wars.
That, god damn it. I didn't feel any "fun" playing Prince of Persia. Okay, so the fights were nice looking, so are the acrobatics, but everything's piss easy.

Same as why playing TF2 against a team of retarded fishfrogs which we pwn in 5 minutes is no fun. Because I didn't use even 1% of my brain's power.

How about both, challenge and fun in the same package. Seems impossible, but it's not.
Hardcore player, challenge = fun.

Casual player, fun = easy.

I think it depends on the game. Ninja Gaiden is mostly fun because of the fact that it is challenging without being built around total bullshit.(Save for a few parts.) Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is not challenging, but it is fun because of all the flashy moves you can do.

OK, how do I respond to this. I can't, I'm stumped. But then again, I am slow in everything so the victory is a shallow one.

What about for the many people who find fun in a challenge? Or those who like healthy doses of both?

Couldn't have a poll without the hardcore vs casual debate comin up. I choose both. Or more of a balance is a better choice. A game doesn't need to rape you every step to be fun. It doesn't need to be piss easy to be fun. Reaching an impassable spot isn't fun after repeating it for the millionth time.
