I was recently playing a game of Spore where I was stuck. So, out of common knowledge I cheated. What I didn't realize was that I got a badge(the equal of an achievement or trophy)for doing so. However, when I cheat on my xbox360 most of the time achievements are disabled. Why is it that my xbox treats cheating like some outlawed thing and gives you a punishment where as my computer doesn't seem to care or even praises me for doing so?
Whats your insight?
Hopefully you knew this ahead of time, but... Though you get a "badge" for cheating, the rest of the "achievements" are disabled (at least on that saved planet). So you're still being punished, you just have to cheat to get the last badge.
As for the topic at hand: I normally don't cheat in videogames, because it
does ruin the challenge. It's like skipping to the end of a book for "just a peek". It's just not as fun then. But in, say, SR2, or such, it makes it more fun. I just make sure I
never cheat online. Because that
does ruin the experience. For everyone.
