I knew a guy who wished his parents had him circumsized as a child...the pain is much more excruciating as an adult. If I ever have sons I will get them circumsized, I just don't think I would want to risk them needing it done later in life where it can be become a particularly traumtising and much more painful thing to experience.

Well, time for another dilemma, folks! How do you feel about circumcision? Is it good? Bad? Should it be legal? No? Yes?
It should be illegal for non-serious medical reasons, but still necessary for grave infections, injuries, and maybe extreme phimosis.
Some escapists who've been circumcised early question the 50% less pleasure and lack of validity of circumcision, I feel this is an attitude that has to be fought.

How the heck do people know about this supposed pleasure loss?
Now you can start hating your parents.
Hate me also if you will, only don't do this to your kids, especially not just to antagonise the likes of me, cheers.

This is an exceptional case, as I explained this is not worth it as a principle of precaution.

I heard circumision can cause just as many issues as not having it done. So unless it's a medical reason you would be more likly to cause more issues.

I was circumcised for medical reasons when I was hitting puberty and find the strong anti sentiments difficult to agree with. My parents were offered the choice when I was a baby, but decided against it. I wish they hadn't. The whole ordeal was embarrassing and painful for weeks before and after, all for the sake of a quick snip I wouldn't remember.

I also think the "pleasure loss" is probably an urban myth.

From what i've heard, those with the uncircumcised sausages Can, not Will, have that whole potential for build up (cheese, i believe its called), which some people like, but not a bunch do. Either way, it can still be dangerous with one, since sometimes the skin can get pulled or torn during sex (with either gender, though it doesn't happen too often). Some people find having sex with someone that has an uncircumcised penis to be gross. Either because of all the "Gross nasty skin hanging off of it!" or other opinions. Personally, i think variety is the spice of life.

Its true that some people really hate that their parents made the choice for them, but most doctors recommend it to them, weighing, unfairly sometimes, the pros and cons to the mothers and fathers right after the boy is born.

As long as my reasons for doing so are in the interests of my own children's welfare I don't see what business it is of anyone else's.

I'm circumsized ebcause of medical reasons. This happened at the age of 3 I believe. It hurt like [random profanity here] when I had to get it out. And now I'm quite happy I'v been circumsized. Only downside I've come across is it pulls in quite far when I'm in the pool haha.

About the sex thing, I'm not sure if that holds up. Then again I use a condom, maybe this gives me the effect of having a very tight foreskin during sex. I've never done it without so I can't really tell the difference.

PROS:

Lasts longer (during sex)
Prove this fact op, cause it sounds like bull to me.
Less sensitivity means slower orgasm. And since sensitivity is lowered by circumcision, you blow your load slower. So it's kinda just rephrasing one his cons, the fact that your penis loses sensitivity.

40 to 50% reduced pleasure?
Are you mental?

Well, time for another dilemma, folks! How do you feel about circumcision? Is it good? Bad? Should it be legal? No? Yes?

Personally, i think i´ll weigh the pros and cons against eachother.

PROS:

Easier to clean.
Lasts longer (during sex)
Reduces risks of some diseases.

CONS:

Loss of about 40-50% pleasure during sex.
More prone to certain diseases.

Now i don´t know about you, but i think we can call this a 50/50 descision, right? It all comes down to what matters the most for you.

But the thing is, that PARENTS can make the descision in many countries, which i think is abhorrent and simply put, wrong, since the practice is irreversible. And if you say "Oh but it can be restored" no, it can´t, not entirely. It can be HEALED, but not restored.

Circumcision is only valid for ONE reason before one hits maturity, and that is a medical condition where the foreskin is to tight around the penis and must be loosened up.

So, my opinion is: If you´re an adult and want to, then fine, good for you. If you´re an adult and you´re about to circumcise a kid, screw you.

What about you?

BONUS DISCUSSION: I find it quite amusing how many people there is that say: "Male circumcision is fine, but Female circumcision is EVUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLL!" I want to ask them a question. Do you believe in equality towards both genders? If yes, shouldn´t male/Female circumcision be just as bad/good as the other?

(For the record, i am aware that female circumcision has MUCH more severe consequences, and i believe it is just as wrong as male circumcision, but this just bugs me. Why scream out for equality when you don´t want it?)
40 to 50% reduced pleasure?
Are you mental?

It under 10%, ask a doctor.

First link: TL;DR
Second link: Definitely taking that with a grain of salt. I read all that and can't help but feel that all the "women's comments" were deliberately picked and exclude any opinion contrary to the writer's views.

Way to be classy. Take your hate-mongering elsewhere.

I voted other. Some need circumcision for other reasons such as the foreskin being too tight and thus having intense pain. I don't think it should be legal, but I don't think it should be illegal. It does more harm than good.

... what?

You do realize that varies from person to person right?
Sure, but generally, less stimulation will make for a slower orgasm. And generally, circumcision has been found to lower sensitivity. So yeah, there are exceptions, but that doesn't make it any less true.

Yeah, I don't think the practice of female genital mutilation should really be called circumcision in any way. For all my opposition of (involuntary) male circumcision, it's still a relatively harmless thing in the end and won't really doom anyone to a life of dysfunctional sexual organs. And in comparison for pleasure purposes, female circumcision is more or less like really cutting your dickhead off.

You do realize i was talking about MALE circumcision right? Right?
That... makes your post so much clearer. I apologize for my own retardation.

As an uncircumcised person, I can honestly say, if you hadn't lost some pleasure and you had your glans hanging out and about in your pants all day every day, you would be in some serious pain/irritation.

That's the thing, it is not for your children welfare, it is for your own peace of mind.
When they grow up it will be their biseness, not yours, and it is very unlikely they will develop something that will make them regret not being circumcised before. Also because it is proven that it will lessen their sexual pleasure.

Here's something less tldr and more serious (for both of you)
http://www.cirp.org/library/sex_function/

Kimarous, I'm not hate mongering but you seem so sensitive I can't help but think you have a nagging feeling that I may be right, you can deny it of course. What I'm concerned about is that you would circumcise your children either for fitting in or out of some sort of misguided pride or spite. Thus making them and partners miss out on sexual pleasure too.
I can't help it if this makes you angry, and if you circumcise your children anyway, such is our cruel world, but if there's some tiny chance I can have an influence to make someone else's life a little better, I got to try.
I pray reconstructive surgery makes progresses so you could judge for yourself.

Given that the health and possiblity sexual benefits of circumcision are offset almost completely by the risks and health drawbacks, as well as possible sexual drawbacks, I think it should be up to the person themselves when their old enough for consent.

Of course, if their is a medical problem with the child that would be sorted out by circumcision (i.e. pain from the foreskin, etc, etc) then yes, I think it should be acceptable for the parent to make the call and have the child circumcised (Though the doctors should explore alternative treatments first).

Female circumcision on children is vastly more unpleasant and should definitely not be legal to perform on a child unless medical conditions require it.
