C4 ftw.
Because you can use them as nades but with extra damage.
This, i use C4 on almost anything, even my M40 ACOG.
Most people don't recognise the usefulness of C4, its a powerful grenade, planted explosive and bored car destroyer.

M40?

I only use C4 as a grenade when you can actually "throw" throw it, tossing it may not get it far enough. Although I do use it in defense of positions because no one ever sees it sticking to the ceiling. Claymores are ridiculous fun as well, the *click*BOOM is very much satisfying.

Claymores are better because thay can be triggered by motion. C4 takes a detonator. also claymores don't go to waste unlike C4's you plant and possiblly wait DAYS JUST TO SEE THE GLORY OF KILLING TERRORISTS!!while claymores you plant, see you idiot brother/sister walk infront of it and then...................BOOM!

BF2 you definatly want C4, the claymores are only really good for leaving in alleys and such, or to defend yourself as a sniper.

the C4 however can be really useful, especially like when FF is off and you c4 jump up on to an otherwise unclimbable roof, people don't tend to look up as often as they should.

Claymores. Until we invent some sort of headgear that somehow gives us 360 degree vision, we have flanks that need protecting. Valuable flanks.
