With some MMOs planning to release on consles I want to know the escapists opinion.
Personly I think they are a great idea as it's going to make MMOs more fast paced fixing one of their major drawbacks. I am seriosly hyped about DC universe online and have been scince it was anounced.

Maybe if it's that Warhammer 40,000 MMO. Otherwise, no. I'm pretty tired of MMOs at the moment.

Played XI on the 360, while I was playing it on the PC. Worked out fine.

Hopefully I'm going to pick up XIV for the PS3 at some point.

I like the idea of MMOs but I find the point and click approach in PC version rather tedious.

Same here, it's the only one that really appeals to me...

If I have to pay a monthly subscription to play it then no, probably not. Otherwise I'd probably give it a try.

Doubtful. Most traditional MMO's (EQ, WoW, and so on) won't function well with the limitations of just using a controller with it's limited number of buttons. While most FPSMMORPG's, like Planetside, I play better at FPS's by using a mouse and keyboard.

So, simply put...probably not.

God no. I tried FFXI for the X360 back when it was in beta and it was awful. Communication was such a chore. Everything felt clumsy - never again.

No, simply because I'm a PC gamer, and secondly right until now there hasn't been any good MMO's on the consoles that I know of.

No point, I have a PC.
My sentiment exactly. When I already have a superior machine for that type of games, why not use that?
I'd hate to do all the typing that an MMO requires through the thumb-stick and the four buttons. And no, I'm not going to buy the keyboard you can attach to the 360 controller.
I'm also not going to engage in voice chat with people all willy nilly. I wouldn't want to deal with people with unintelligible [footnote]To me, I'm terrible at accents..[/footnote] accents, and people who don't know how to spell, much less pronounce, whatever they're trying to say. I'd hate having to try deciphering whatever someone who can't even spell "I" or "Me" are trying to say, and I have encountered people who are unable to spell those words before.

Not that they are inferior people, of course, but not even having a proper keyboard at your disposal is seriously going to hamper communication even further.

Of course there's also the problem that the MMO would have to be incredibly simple to accommodate the very limited input options that a console controller provides. Unless you're going by the Guild Wars or Champions Online route, but even those games would be stretching the capabilities of a regular controller.

PSO was pretty great. If they make another PSO like game maybe.
They did, Phantasy Star Universe but overall was never as good as PSO. Luckily Phantasy Star Portable 2 will have fully funcitonal online play with pvp and stuff, DLC, and events.

I would try it under this condition. I am vehemently opposed to monthly subscriptions.

One developer did a bad, so therefore all of them will, ever, no matter what type of game they try and make into a MMORPG.

No, I just don't think that it would work well on consoles.

It depends on how the game is set up though of course.

Your grammar is very convoluted. But to me, pretty much. I tried it, i have the benefit of hindsight, i know from experience the concept doesn't work. People who don't and say "have an open mind, they can't all be bad" have no experience with which to back that up. Console MMORPGs aren't something that interest me terribly so i don't care enough to have an open mind. I tried it, i hated it, i'm not bothered to try again - end of. I don't care about other people's opinions and i'm not going to force myself to 'have an open mind'.
