He, you gave a much better example than me.Cheeze_Pavilion said:"everyone who plays the most demanding FPS games out there, Quake and Unreal" is as talented as Fatal1ty with a keyboard? I had no idea! Does that mean everyone who plays Halo is as talented at aiming with a controller as this:

Aww man, I'd kill for one invite.Eggo said:You're given the capability to do so. And you don't even need to be Jonathan Wendel. I've gotten my ass served with mid-air rail and mid-air rocket frags (and done a little bit myself!) quite a few times playing in just the low tier skillmatched games in Quake Live.Cheeze_Pavilion said:I should--according to you I can run around just like Fatal1ty: "everyone who plays the most demanding FPS games out there, Quake and Unreal"
Don't you ever wonder why console FPS games limit the possibilities to move, act, and react in the Z-axis so much?
Hey! I have 10 invites to Quake Live. Would you like one?![]()
There aren't any. I just don't like keyboard. Mouse is cool, obiously, although personally I prefer console controllers because that's what I'm used to. They feel more comfortable to me (and know, this is not an excuse for some fanatic to open up a massive argument on the subject of ergonomics). I also think that anyone who believes that being on PC means you are using more skill is a fool. Any game where there is an obvious difference between those who are better and those who are worse requires skill.Woe Is You said:I'd like to know where these FPS games are where analog movement is as crucial as aim.
For most FPS games, the WASD input is more than sufficient. It is, in fact, less precise than an analog stick but that precison is not even remotely necessary. Generally, my movement speed in a FPS game is going to be dictated by the maximum speed my character can move when standing, when crouching and (possibly) when prone. Most of my character movement consists of straight forward and backward key inputs, though the path is obviously modified by mouse looking.Eggo said:You're given the capability to do so. It is something new because the PS3 is the first console which uses Blu-Ray. I meant that.ColdStorage said:I'm confused, what about Blu ray is new?, its just a format for disc's, Compact Disc's were new in 1982, blu ray is just the next logical step for that tech.Vlane said:I never said that it is innovative but it is something new for a console.ColdStorage said:I wouldn't call be able to watch movies something I've not seen before, the PS3 is very powerful, but not innovative.Vlane said:I worship nothing.
All three consoles have nothing we haven't seen before (except the Blu-Ray from the PS3).
I'm not choosing any, I've dilly dallied with all of them, i've only been offended by Halo 3 so far on the Xbox.
Just because it has bigger memory, doesn't mean its a new thing.
I like the PS3, it just gets my goat about people calling it new tech, its not, the CELL processor is a RISC processor thats multi threaded, which has been done before, blu ray is just a disc format.
Sorry to bang on at you, its not your fault I feel this way!![]()
but it still grabs my goat!
Especially in FPS's it's too unprecise. If you press W,A,S or D you move too fast, too far in one direction and this can be bad if you are behind something.Eggo said:For first person shooter games, could you explain how it is still too imprecise? It's not like you typically need anything more than binary digital inputs for gross movements in competitive online multiplayer games.Vlane said:Graphics are better okay but the thing about controls and in-depth are your opinion.Elim Garak said:PC FTW!!!! Graphics that are better than the best either console can offer, more in-depth games, a control scheme head, shoulders, breasts, hips, and thights above console crap? Yea, I will stick with that.
I don't know why PC fanboys think that their controls are the best. The mouse is the only thing which is a pro. WASD (or anything like it) is still too unprecise for most games.
