So.... Apparently you are either a fool or a troll, which is it?
What is apprent is that you sir are a Jackass of the highest standard. He posts what is his opinion, and although it is wrong, it is not worth that type of reply. If anyone is worth being called a troll, it's you.

My favorite genre is RTS. For most of my life I've been playing them on my P.C. However just recently I got "Halo Wars" and "Red Alert 3" for my xbox. Believe it or not I liked the console RTS controls better than the PC RTS controls. It felt way more organic to paint over the units to select them, instead of selecting them using click and drag. And the subtraction of the minimap didn't bother me at all. Not to mention that the graphics are waaay better on consoles. What do you think?
Several things about this paragraph tell me that you are doing it wrong.

PC > consoles period!

You know folks IF someone makes some cotnrollers to console ho basicly is mouse and keybord the yes it can be better! But as it is today PC > consoles for rts, a console controller is simply incompitable

If you prefer them on console, more power to you. I'm not going to ridicule you for being the only person in the world who thinks so.

You're just the only person in the world who thinks so. Which is fine. It just will be very, very lonely. But hey, we all have our quirks.

Saying that they look better on console is a little bit of a weird statement. Unless you don't have a gaming PC, there is really no support for this hypothesis. The only way I could explain this is if you are referring to consoles being on a TV, but you can put your computer on a TV just fine. Basically, if a console looks better, then that is because you aren't doing something. If you have a huge TV in one room, and a 800 Mhz processor computer in the back room hooked up to a 15 inch monitor, that's not a matter of the graphics on one looking better then the other, it's a matter of your choice of platform, and how you treat each platform.

I was going to say console until the Hero Line Defence Lition 7.98 thing struck me and i know that a game that used heroes with abilities is better on PC

Everyone should lay off the OP. Hes not a troll. There has been no "Ur PC licks Balls" style comments. Ive not seen FTW anywhere.

I am primarily a console gamer, although I used to play a lot of PC games. For me the console controls have come on in leaps and bounds for FPS's. Now that we have moved away from carrying 10 weapons I'd prefer a controller. 5 years ago I would never have believed I'd one day say that.

RTS it is still wanting though. Endwar worked because it used the mic. If more go this way then console RTS's will get better.

Graphics are better on PC if you have a gaming rig, not everyone can afford a gaming rig. I could afford one but with a young son and famiily I have other priorities. My xbox will do fine.

So far most RTS's are all designed around the concept of micro management. It's always been an integral part of the genre, especially in competitive play. The problem is you cant really micro on a console. You need to have the mouse and hotkeys to be able to quickly micro your units. IT just doesn't work on consoles.

That said, there is one console RTS which actually does a pretty good job on it. Brutal Legend. It actually circumvents the micro problem by mixing in action elements into the gameplay. If your not familiar with it, basically you control your hero unit as you would in an action game, and then give orders to your army. You can do special attacks and buffs etc. Interesting bit is you can take control of individual units in double team attacks, essentially letting you micro that unit... it works really well, and essentially keeps the traditional macro management elements from RTS's, capturing resources, building units, "select all, attack move" type stuff, and substitutes the micro elements with action elements...
But other than that console rts's suck ass, pc all they way

I was going to go off into length about how ridiculous this entire discussion would be, do to how simply prepsterous the very concept of Console RTSs being better than their PC counterparts...

Then I saw the poll results.

Hm...I've really only played RTS games on the PC, and they're pretty good. If oyu know how to do it, one game I have you could beat a skirmish mode in about half an hour to an hour by going through the same routine. The problem with RTS games is all you need to do is make millions about millions of basic infantry and march them other to the enemy and watch them die while succeeding. That's the most rewarding thing is seeing all my troops getting killed off.
Honestly, RTS is a good genre but if you want real strategy go for Turn-Based strategy like Advanced Wars or Fire Emblem.

First off, yes, you're right. The op is just fine. He is expressing his personal opinion and experience in a polite way. I tried to express my perspective in an equally polite way. Some people are being overly sensitive, and its a shame.

However, there is a fallacy in your argument about not being able to afford a gaming rig. The thing is that these days, even if you own an X-Box, you still probably need a new computer every now and again, unless your living under a rock. If you were to tack on the price of an X Box, controllers, and Live on top of the price of a computer you need for everyday use anyways, then you have a pretty decent gaming rig. I dare say that in the long run, you end up paying less for games on the PC (Bioshock for $5, Orange Box for $10, and lots of other special deals come to mind). This isn't an argument for PC being better, its an argument that it all comes down to your own personal choice of play style.

I feel that RTS's on consoles can't really get as advanced as their PC counterparts.
And I have played Halo Wars, it just felt akward and like there were something missing.

I've played a few console RTS (an Alien vs Predator one on xbox and age of empires 2 on PS2) and a lot of PC RTS and I thought not having a mouse was really annoying.

I have always prefered the play style of PC's.
Console RTS's I always find a tad lazy, like they have great potential and don't live up to it. Biggest example off the top of my head being Halo Wars.
Also PC Graphics > Console Graphics, that has never been in question.

That's most idiotic thread I've seen in a while. Good job! It's an obvious trolling attempt. I really don't think that's a real question - poll results show that there's nothing to discuss.

RTS can't work on the console, it is horrible, but the two you mentioned are terrible in my opinion, well Red alert 3 to the rest of the sires, and Halo Wars is RTS for dummies

The RTS can work on a console its just never been done, too do one properly requires a completly from the ground up mechanic, the point and click excel spreadsheet style of PC RTS is never going to work on a controller.
