I always enjoy these kinds of threads because where I'm from we don't actually have a "cool vs. uncool" thing going on.

Having said that I do the whole witty one-liners thing quite well and I'm proud of that.

I'm more than half way up the food chain pretty much, and i have good relations with everyone except about 3 of the guys. Everyone in the lower grades seem to like worship me. So i guess i consider myself cool but im not some 6 pack coller poped fag. Everyone just likes me.

The definition of cool is self-confidence with a touch of physical beauty, style, and popular interests (not to mention have at least one other "cool" friend). You don't have to have perfect looks, perfect fashion, or love every popular activity, but you need to have at least a little bit in each category to be considered "cool". I'm not cool, but because I was universally liked at my highschool I spent a bit of time with the "cool" kids and got to learn the requirements of "cool" quite well.

But "coolness" doesn't really matter. What does matter is finding a group of people with similar interests and enjoying life.

However, if you are desperate to be "cool", join a sports team, fix your looks (not as hard as you think unless you're overweight), and don't be a f-cking knob and you'll be "cool" in no time.

Everyone in sixth form likes me or is amiably indifferent, I'm well-known, and can talk with anyone should I choose to (I often don't, as whilst I can get on with people, I can still hate them intensley)

What makes me and my friends this "popular" for a bunch of intellectual wannabees? Simple, we don't care. We don't care about the pop culture, or what's IN, or who the hell is "Lady Gaga" or "50 cent", or, for me anyway, give a damn about fashion.

Since the rule of cool is appear uncaring and "whatev's", this, paradoxically, makes us fit in
