I fit somewhere between the 'Stop correcting me, it's annoying' option, and the 'I hate being wrong. Correct me if I am.' option. And by that I don't mean I am middle ground, I mean I am either heavily one way or heavily the other.
This is my rule when correcting others:
If the typo is so bad that what is said is unintelligible, then it should be corrected. If it's a minor error and you feel the need to correct it, then you better damn well have some other input to make on the individuals comment to keep the discussion moving.
As for people correcting me, go for it. If I clearly had a flaw in my line of thinking or grammar then I am likely to thank you for the correction.
