Pokemon horror? I can only imagine some gengar or other ghost pokemon going on a rampage in some old run down house...
Eeh... like a Full On Pokemon Revolt?

Been out of the forums for a bit, but I think that this could potentially be a great product, as it targets the teen audience who grew up with Pokemon. It might even deserve its own card game...

*BING* Idea
You know how they are sucking the blood dry from the Pokemon franchise, well what about putting in some Blood Suckers? Like a Vampire Pokemon that feeds on Humans?

Could Pokemon possibly work in the context of the horror genre? Absolutely--just think for a moment of some of the concepts in the games, and realize how disturbing they actually are: animal cruelty, kidnapping, shady organizations, etc.

Will it ever be done? I certainly hope not; I like the games as they are.

But it'd still be on.

They did it in the first game (Lavender Town) and they're trying it in the new one (Torn World)

Buhjeezus, Lavender Twon still scares me to this day.

All they'd have to do is make the attacks realist. For example; when a pokemon blows fire on another one or a person. Conflagration! Grisly deaths would be everywhere.

It could work with the right pokemon, but it's aimed at too young an audience to be a success.

I am hoping to target the Teen and Adult audiences, who may love/hate Pokemon but still remember it and the great times they had. Thus targeting the somewhat younger generations (the teens) the audience will not be a bunch of raving fanboy toddlers and have a somewhat open mind.

Has anyone ever wondered what Psyduck is really thinking?
Yes. He is planing the demise of civil society and implementing tactics to control the world's Pizza supply through Instantaneous Transit via psychic energy.

I've been yearning a more serious pokemon TV show, maybe not necessarily horror. That bring the real world into pokemon, what real life would be like if pokemon existed. Which in turn since our world is a horror show, so yeah it would be amazing!

How about a movie or game about how Pokemon take over the world? They infiltrate society and are used to battle each other, but the regions where they roam are not limited by adaptability, instead they are quarantined by other nations and thought of as a semi-hostile alien force that is attempting to take over the world. After the events of the Pokemon Movies (near Apocalyptic events, huge explosions, mind controlled armies, ect...) the nations of the world decide to remove the dangerous threat to civilization. War ensues.

Could it or would it?
Could? Yes anything could. That is the main staple of why horror is so popular besides the main principles of the genre. In other less stupid words the only reason horror works is that anything can become scary and that the human mind will become scary.

Would it? Not by the creators. It is a kids game.

Well I think it could. I mean you're always told to walk through some dark cave at some point, right? SO you'd be walking through this cave, and occasional bat things squeeking and stuff. And then out of no where an onix erupts from the ground and crushes you! Or baing chased through a house or somthing by the ghosts, or the woods by some other strange critter....

You'd have to redesign the art of course, but with the proper feel to it it could be done.
