You need to refine your poll a bit, I did like the original Crackdown, however it wasn't one of the big like... 17 or something was it, that I originally was looking out for in E3l. So while the idea of another Crackdown is cool one, it wasn't really even on my list of things to look out for at E3. My point is that I think your poll should include a "interested but not exactly enthralled" option.
Edit: I'll tell you one thing though. You damn well better be able to run faster in this game than the first. Because even fully leveled up I couldn't run faster than a freaking civilian vehicle, which is bullshit.

Why is it that every game developer relies on the same thing when it comes to sequels: Zombies.
I mean.. Shellshock 2, Crackdown 2, Left 4 Dead 2 (Ok, so thats a cheapshot.)
Just seemed odd.
OT: Yeah It looks pretty sweet.

Zombies? When did this happen?
And looks really good, the first Crackdown was excellent, and with 4-Player Co-Op for this and an even better story with no shit-inside out endings it looks pretty good.
There are no zombies! This guy just fails at the metaphor when the agency guy says that the streets are infected and we are the cure. He is talking about crime not fucking zombies!

See for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tnnhj0rBZIg

Note the way the man runs from the agent rather than groan and stagger foward. Note the way the word zombie isn't used and infected is only used in terms of metaphor. Finally note how sinister the announcer is; we can infer that this game will be about working for then fighting the agency. However note the shadow at the end, it resembles the mutants you may have fought in the science labs of the game.

Therefore we can infer that the OP is just projecting his own zombie fantasy and you will be fighting criminals while being attacked by possibly agency related mutants who escaped into the sewers.

If I am wrong and this game is about zombies I will publicly apologise. Then I will rant about them ruining a good thing with zombies which are sooo 2005. Fallout 3 has shown us that the future is mutants!
Care to tell me why the shadow reflecting off the wall looks like a Fucking Tyrant Ala Resident Evil?
I'll bet anything that there is an outbreak (Virus.) This is common among developers in this day in age. I could be wrong, and I probably am, but it seemed like they were giving subtle hints as to a biochemical outbreak of sorts (The very beginning being what looks like a shot of human veins, and the aformentioned man who looks like he is a Tank/Tyrant Hybrid around 1:06. There is something Much more than just Human enemies this time around..
Like hypothetical fact said: Mutants from the first game.

From the looks of it, the E3 announcement Crackdown 2 has gone generally overlooked. I mean, I know that Metal Gear Rising is coming to the 360, that Nintendo and Team Ninja are making a Metroid game, that Nintendo is buying hookers for the first million people who buy a Wii Vitality Sensor, etc, but what about Crackdown 2?

I thoroughly enjoyed the first game, even though it had a few quirks that kept it from being sublime. Crackdown 2 looks like it's gonna be a perfect follow up; just instead of ethnic stereotypes, you fight zombies (and possibly the zombies of ethnic stereotypes.)

Please, tell me SOME of you are a little excited. If not, tell me why?
It's not a Zombie. More like a Biological sewer monster. So it will be like Resident evil only you replace Sheva with thin air,Zombies with Criminals, and Wesker with a sewer monster.

They also come out of the sewer but that don't make them mutant ninja turtles. When you entire the science labs of the Shai-Gen to kill Balthizar Chernencko you find "freaks" which look exactly like the shadow seen in the Crackdown 2 trailer. It is much more reasonable to expect that they escaped or are being used by the agency to keep agents in check. To provide more evidence of my freak theory than your "zombie" theory, watch a clip of them and see the similarities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n__sfDX5Nxg (This clip is of all the Shai Gen generals and other than a quick preview of a freak at the begining you can see the section with them from 9:00-11:00
Seems... Logical. I'm still not completely convinced, but this has given me more backround information and makes sense, so I woulden't be suprised if your theory were true. I just wonder how they evolved so fast, I don't recall them having claws in the first Crackdown.
Perhaps it's genetic/biological stuff that we'll uncover later on.

There was mutants in the first game I seem to remember in the Shai-gen(?) area, but they didn't play that big a part in the game.

Erm I'm not overly excited about the game since the first one I didn't get to experience fully since by the time I got XBL people had already played it's worth out so no co-op play for me. I might look into it though at some point but not enough to perk up my intrest yet

No opinion.
Hated the first one. I simply hope they took what they did wrong in the first (IE: everything) and fix it.

I think Crackdown 2 is going to turn a lot of heads when it's released, including people who aren't that interested in it now.

When I played the original, I thought it felt like the foundation of a great game. It needed a stronger story, more mission variety and some character interaction to make it really shine. So with any luck, the developers have realised that their character physics are fine and put most of their effort into adding that layer of life this time around.

I'm guessing partly because they're very marketable (at least right now) and partly because it's really easy to model AI for a zombie. They're the only enemy for which realistic AI coding consists of two commands: *shuffle forward* and *bite/scratch*

True. Although I'm dead certain the writers of that clip knew that mentioning "infected" would prick up the ears of a large segment of the population that loves zombies.

Crackdown was a good game in all, its a long game (ish) and its very satisfying to play but like all games it had room to improve. Now by improve i mean add ons and new location and more weapons. Thought Crackdown 2 has this and more it has one of the oddest new features, not only do you have to contest against rebels in the streets but giant mutants which is a bit of a stretch, yes they may have been in the first one but were not as big, scary, strong, fast and im pritty sure they didnt come from the ground below you, so im not sure on that bit of it but other than that it looks stunning.

I liked Crackdown even though I just bought it last month for $15.00. Its a great game and I'm glad I waited and saved myself some money. I'm looking forward to Crackdown 2.
