Poll: Cross Platform Online Gaming

Shadowrun has been doing PC vs 360 for ages. I haven't noticed much of a superiority, but that may be because barely anyone plays it on the PC.

I think it could work, but would just add to the console flame war-athon.

I can see it "in theory" for non-twitch based games, like Final Fantasy XI or Age of Conan and other games of that ilk. But for the reflex-based shooters, or for even menu-based (think EVE), I would find controllers largely clumsy for them. To each their own. If people want it, why not?

Holy shit will you look at all these PC elitists in here, I was wondering why the room smelled so much.

I find no issue with the idea because it's an even match between PC and Console people no matter what those PC nuts say.

I'm sorry I can't elaborate more but I think my inner fanboy would get me suspended for yelling at the PC elitists in here.

Ahh but should people be allowed to opt who they play with? i.e. choose wether they want to play cross platform of xbox/pc/wii/ps3/only?

For twitch-based, I'm tempted to say yes, but in reality, who cares? If you advertise it as cross-platform, the gamer knows what they are getting into before hand. And if they feel they are getting the short end of the muzzle by any group they can use that groups items as well (Keyboard/mouse or Joystick). So in the intentions of keeping servers lively and not favoring any over another, I would say keep everyone mixed. Thus you won't know what someone is playing with until they tell you...
