It's about dismissing a game for inane reasons. That's shallow. And it's very easy to get an opinion on it; read reviews and do research. I do that with anime suggestions despite no initial interest. Based on what I read I decide if I want to watch it or not. It's not like you're being neutral over a controversial topic; SO:TL is a well received game.
dismissing a game for the reason of it not being your preferred genera is inane now? since when?

OT: not sure, its a pretty decent list, but as some one else said, start with the weaker titles first the work your way into the good stuff like Dark Souls and Spec Ops
I didn't see that he didn't like shooters. All he said was that it was in the first person, and therefor it's not worth acknowledging. That's kind of ignorant.

I did the same thing with spec Ops for a while, and I still do it with FPS games with few exception.

granted, I've since gotten Spec Ops on steam, but that was only after hear about it having a worth while story and generally turning the MMS genera on its head.

But then Spec Ops is the exception to the rule isn't it.

Let's see.....
Donkey Kong Country Returns: A colorful platformer with a nice bit of difficulty while maintaining child-like innocence.

Dark Souls: A cliched fantasy world with apparent crushing difficulty. (never played it though.)

Resistance 3: The studio that made Spyro and Ratchet is slowly dying. This is apparent with the last two games they released which were " All 4 One" and "Full Frontal Assault" none of which were full Ratchet games. The only interesting thing in this game are the weapons while the color pallet remains monotone and the environment only half-tries. I'd call it a bland shooter.

Catherine: Great writing and story with lack-luster gameplay unless you're into puzzles. For people who hate puzzles it would have been just as good as a movie.

Shadows of the Damned: A true Suda game. If you're into that. I'm not, but I fully respect the man and recognize he makes fun games.

Spec Ops The Line: Third Person shooter (personal ew) about the army (a more generalized ew) that pulls a now cliche twist ending. Is it worth cracking the shell to get to the delicious if short-lived walnut(or insert your favorite nut) inside?

Playstation Allstars Battle Royale: A quick cash-grab and blatant rip-off by Sony who couldn't get half the licenses to it's games and forgot about some great melee picks like Wanderer and Jehuty. (Moving Colossus stage, hello?)
