You all realize that humor is not a measurement.... there is no response that is fact.
whether he is funny or not is all in the eye of the beholder.
to say, "i think he is not funny." would be the correct response...instead you go for the "he is the sux and is not funny TO ANYONE WITH A BRAIN!!!!11111oneoneone!!!111!!! and i know this as a factual statement that is not opinion in the least."
but aside from that, i find him hit or miss.

I don't mind Dane Cook, in small doses. The one movie of his I've seen (Employee of the Month) had its moments but wasn't great.
I don't really understand why people hate him, but they do. And I think this is why a bunch of other comedians have started stealing his jokes... if you call them out on it you're admitting you've heard Dane Cook tell the joke.
Oh well. He's rich and famous, we're not. He really doesn't care how much we/you/I hate/like him.

His comedic stylings are sub-par, but I haven't yet encountered a woman who wouldn't jump his bones given the chance, so for that he gets some props. I'm sure his acting will improve in time.

However, as his popularity increased, his quality began to diminish, eventually to a point where I was with a group of friends at school when one of them just started shouting, and everyone but me laughed. They looked at me as if I had some infectious disease for not finding Dane funny. So a few weeks later I just jumped up and started running around and yelling. They thought it was hilarious until I told them I just did that off the top of my head. A couple of them realize what this meant about Dane, but there was one of them who actually said "I can't not like him because he is popular." But that's another story for a different thread.

Yeah, I'm with you on the Dane Cook issue. Saw a bit of his standup, thought he was kinda funny (his "Christ Chex" bit made me lol) but then he got famous and it went to his big fat head.

but now that he got some popularity, its all about jokes to please all the stupid idiots that will laugh at anything. i mean its not bad, you can still find some good jokes here and there, but in the end, ego and money lead him to please the "regular" folks. I now find him very stretched out, kinda like family guy. when they were new and unheard of, they were funny for the sake of bieng funny. now they just wont die.
