I am in LOVE with the Devil May Cry series, and yes, that means DMC 2 too. I don't get why everyone hated on it, despite the big change to Dante's character. I have read all the mangas, watched the anime, and played all the games, and dammit, I love it all.

I just learned they are making Devil May Cry 5, which made me happier than to hear about inFamous 2 (and i loved inFamous), my only problem is that they said they are going to make big changes to it, including making it more "western". And I fear they are going to ruin the series completely and end it without a proper ending. And worse; They might make it in 3-D... which I honestly wouldn't play it anymore...

What do you guys think about the series or the development of DMC5?

The only one I have is the newest one, and frankly, it was total ass, just like every other game in the stupid Capcom bundle pack.

DMC 3 was my favourite. Not really for the storyline but for the insane combos and devil trigger forms with all the weapons. Sword + dual swords = epic combo love long time.

Hahah, you mean dual pistols?

Devil May Cry 3 (The original, insanely hard, one) was epic.
The others... not so much.

If they're going to make another DMC they've gotta take note from Santa Monica Studio's "God of War", because the 4th DMC wasn't half as good the 3rd, and if they keep going that way, it's only gonna get worse.

By the way, the Anime series was an idiotic one, I still can't believe I watched it all the way through.

I think Capcom really needs to get their act together and begin to TRY understanding their audience. Maybe that's just my opinion, but I really think they don't know how to work for what their fans want.

No, you could use 2 sets of weapons. I used the starter sword and the dual swords (wind & fire).

I chose Devil May Cry 4 but not because of Nero. I found Dante's personality a lot more appealing. Somewhere between his DMC 1 and DMC 3 self. Serious yet goofy and having fun.

No he's talking about the Wind and Fire swords you get from that one boss. The golems that are brothers. I just can't remember the names of the weapon right now.
Oh, those. Well when he said "swords + dual swords" I assumed he meant the pistols and just misstyped. Agni and Rudra I believe the names were.

DMC1 was fun and fresh.

Now clones are all over and it's just the same old crap with different effects.

The anime was pretty off. I enjoyed the fight scenes most of the whole thing. but the mangas were pretty good. The Devil May Cry 3 ones gave more insight to what led to the game.

Why is DMC 2 even a option on this poll?!

OT: My favorite is DMC 3, 1 and 4 are also good, but the lighting in 4 was just weird looking to me.

Devil May Cry 1 will always and forever be one of the best games in my opinion.

It was fun. It was fresh.

No game before had really done something like it before and it was totally badass.

Dante wsan't a total fuckwad like he was in 3 or 4 and he wasn't a piece of cardboard like in 2.

It was the perfect balance of practically all gameplay elements including story.

I thought DMC3 had done some pretty good combo styles and storyline. It wasn't as corny as the first one (but it was still pretty corny). And Dante was a young, cocky Demon hunter back then, and he matured more afterwards. Especially in DMC4. I just hate that he wasn't even a real part of the story. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Nero. He was good fun to play as, and had a good character, but he took the spotlight from Dante, and that bugs me. Dante is the main protagonist, not just some side character and occasional Antagonist.

I think changes could be a good thing.. but that's coming from someone who much prefers other fast paced combat heavy action titles.

I loved DMC1 as a kid, played it to hell and back. Quiet a few scares in the beginning back then too.

Loved DMC3, never managed to beat hard mode though :(
But my top is DMC4, can't reject that.

I also saw the anime twice >:D it wasn't bad, just short...really...REALLY...short

By the way, the 5th DMC is going to be a screw up probably, since it's a different developer but there going for a western style touch this time >:X
Basically means no more crazy designs probably...

My favorite was one but I'm a fan of "where they came from". I hope they do something special with five.

I got the first five episodes of anime from preordering DMC4 for 360 (better graphics on PS3 lol) I am just glad that Reuben voiced him, and does the mocap. I love Reuben Langdon. Best Dante voice ever lol.

But Johnny Young Bosch did give him a run for his money as Nero in DMC4, because Bosch is AMAZING! xDD

And DMC 2-4 was a different developer from 1. They didn't do too bad, so who knows?

Also, I beat every mode on 3 and all but Dante Must Die on 4. Because Nero was too good on it, but when switching to Dante, it got extremely hard, especially against the lightning bastard.

They're all great except 2. I liked 4 despite it being half a game repeated with another BETTER character. I honestly want the next DMC to let you pick who you use like the other games let you, because I hate Nero's whiny little face and would really prefer to not play as him.

I'm a extremist pc user, so...yea...you get the point
Well DMC 2 was bad, we both know that.
But it's not changing the developer that bothers me, it's that there changing the core look\style of the game to fit the American "western" audience. I can give sources if you want.

So yea, with no crazy Japanese puzzles and monster styles, it probably won't be the same.

The funny thing is, the game is/was based off of the Dante's Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso books. Which are amazing. So, as long as they can keep the center on those books, it should stay fine.

And the only games I have played on PC were the Mass Effect games, and those kick ass :D

But they change the puzzles or the crazy ass monsters I am going to choke talk to someone about ruining it like DMC 2.
