Yes. Vergil was an amazing character, much better than Nero. Although Nero WAS Vergil's son... and I do believe that was said by one of the creators.
Wait a second--Nero is the son of Dante's twin brother, who was nineteen in DMC3, right? Then why is it that Nero is eighteen ten years later in DMC4, unless Vergil was impregnating women at the fine-and-dandy age of eleven? There's no denying that he was heavily influenced by Virgil, and Nero definitely fed off of his power after Dante freed him (Vergil) from Mundus' control, but 'son' is kind of a weird word to be throwing around in this case.
Well, no. They were half-demon. Meaning they didn't necessarily age at the same pace as normal humans. It never truly gives their ages. But if you think about it, alot of signs point to it. The Devil Trigger look, the only one who can use his sword, Nero (name of Vergil in DMC1, which in Engrish was Nero Angero). Plus having Sparda's blood in him while not being a son of Sparda.

DMC4.
DMD mode was stupid hard though, because I hadn't really realized how overpowered Nero was until I switched back to Dante.
Hahaha, right? With Nero, his Devil Bringer smoked everyone, especially when you could keep the upgrades to everything throughout the modes, but Dante couldn't do shit against the Lizardmen when they went all Devil Trigger.
Not to mention that one Secret Mission. You know the one. It was terrible. I had to god-pod it and I hate doing that.
Ugh, I was never any good at secret missions, no matter the game. I not once got all blue orbs in any game, but I got most, and that... was enough lol But I tried most of them, and for the sake of the gods, they were so freaking difficult.
Theres a trick to most of them.
Like the one where you have to protect the scarecrow, just pick him up and use him as a shield. Jump over to the fountain, drop him, and buster all the mandragoras.
Or the one where you have to cross the disappearing platforms. God-pod over to the blue shard.
Ugh, that one... That one was beyond difficult on DMD... I HATED those Reapers. Especially as Dante. But the worst enemies to fight as Dante were those Blitz guys... and the Lizardmen...
We don't say that B word in polite society.
O.O Blitz?

I'd always though he'd just been possessed by Yamato when Dante (re)killed Virgil (becuase, let's admit it, Sanctus probably had no idea what he was talking about) but I'll buy that.

Also, on an unrelated note, I think Dante should get a new pair of guns and name them "Jack and Diane". You know, to go with the theme.

Hahahah. Yes, I couldn't stand him. Not a problem as Nero, but when I had to fight him as Dante in that tiny little path in the forest, I just said screw it and rushed away from him any chance I could. If I HAD to fight him, I just charged Shotgun and did a wuss tactic by running as much as possible lol

If they forget about new playable characters and just focus on Dante and awesome combos and make it more like DMC3 I'll consider buying it. Otherwise it's a rental, just like DMC4 was until I bought it on PC 2 years later for 15e (I used my 360 controller).

There are lots of theories that could make sense, but I'm gonna go with him being his son, because even if he was possessed by Yamato, it wouldn't explain Sparda's blood, or having the white hair (which is supposed to mean something about Demons in japanese culture or something, and only Sparda's children or real old people having it).

I rather like his two guns, they pack quite a punch... since I was never a shotgun fan or the missile launcher user. Besides, I never used them anyways lol. I loved slicing and dicing.

I chose Devil May Cry 4 but not because of Nero. I found Dante's personality a lot more appealing. Somewhere between his DMC 1 and DMC 3 self. Serious yet goofy and having fun.

DMC 3 was my favourite. Not really for the storyline but for the insane combos and devil trigger forms with all the weapons. Sword + dual swords = epic combo love long time.
Hahah, you mean dual pistols?
No he's talking about the Wind and Fire swords you get from that one boss. The golems that are brothers. I just can't remember the names of the weapon right now.

What?! They are making it more western? Wtf? Gahh! I do hope that they wont screw it up.

I only played the 3rd and 4th game and i loved em. Though i cant play the 3rd anymore as i am so used to switching styles with just the press of a button and other various functions.

Yeah, that was really awesome, instead of having to choose it and stick with it. I especially loved Vergil's style though. Mostly because it had the bad assedness of both Dante and Vergil combined.

DMC 1 will ALWAYS be my favourite, it being one of the first PS2 games I really enjoyed. 3 follows closely second, followed by 4 and then 2. I didn't find 2 particularly back, but there wasn't anything memorable in it for me.

I've only played DMC 1 and 4 and have yet to finish the first one. Four was pretty fun, especially the boss fights, but I'll have to finish 1 first before I know fully.
