What one, and why?

Edit: Assuming persistent ownership of the download. i.e You can re-download it if it's lost, etc. And you own it forever.

Also assuming downloads were slightly cheaper.

Discs

Edit: Shit, why?

Because i have it in my hand, and it cant be fucked over as easy, lost as easy or deleted as easily.

Discs, so long as I don't have to register the disc with steam as then it is pointless. I like the old system. Buy a game, go home, install it, and play. No asking permission from a server to play your non-online game you shelled out 40 bucks for on your time. And if I want to reinstall it 20 years later and play a game I use to love for nostalgia, my 40 dollars doesn't rely on steam to stay in business.

If there's a disc, I want it.
If there's a case, I want it.
I especially want the instruction manual.

Discs... I'm a completionist and I love having a beautiful disc and cover to flounce and show off somewhere. It will never beat digital distribution.

Eh...I dislike having to change discs. Then again, I ALSO dislike that feeling that I don't actually own the game I just bought, and that if the service that provided the game to me ever shuts down I'm basically SOL. Also whenever there is a "Server problem" or "steam update" I can't play my games, etc.

But I still REALLY dislike changing discs. So yea, download.

Discs. They're tangible. Plus Downloads can't come with awesome bonuses like art books and such.

Discs are good, it's always nice to have a hard copy, but it can be handy just downloading it, also its a lot cheaper.

Discs. I like being able to look at my large collection of games.

I think I actually "prefer" discs, but history has shown what happens when I buy physical media. Or at least by 4 time purchases of the Diablo 2 battlechest has.

Thus, gonna go with downloads. I just like having it all right there in Steam. I will lose physical media but steam's got my back.

For consoles: Discs. They look nice, I can put them in my shelf and browse them and lean back in the couch. Also, the HDD on my Xbox 360 is only 60 gigs, so it would fill up after ~10 games.
For computers: Downloads. I have a pretty massive HDD, and I don't want to mess about swapping discs just to play a game that is already installed. Hooray for Steam!

Discs... I love the smell of a new game. You can't get that with a digital copy.

Discs because if you think about Discs + Downloads on both PC and Consoles, most digital downloads on the 360 and PS3 (and the Wii to a certain extent) are much more expensive than the second-hand versions available at (insert local game trader here) in most cases. I know PC downloads are cheap but I bet some are about the same price as you would get from a used game store.

Plus, y'know, the usual ownership thing and manuals. I read manuals when I'm bored. I died slightly inside when I found my second-hand copy of Bayonetta didn't have a manual but then I actually realised that I bought the game to play it, but was still slightly disheartened *sigh*

Downloads every time if I can.

I do own the games, I don't have to deal with scratched discs, I don't have to take up space, and it's cheaper.

Anyway, as much as I love manuals they're phasing them out soon anyway.
