Graphics are somewhat of a way to see if the developers have put a lot of time, work and effort in a game. I noticed that some of the graphical benchmark games are complimented with great (or at least decent) gameplay. Bad graphics can be a way to see if a game lacks polish before it is released. I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy a game just because it doesn't have graphics that are quite up to par with Crysis or KillZone 2 (I never thought I would compliment that game!) or am I saying to preorder a game just because it promises pretty graphics, I'm just saying that graphics CAN (not always) be a way of spotting a gem before it is released.
