Poll: Do I Cosplay, or not?

OT: I voted no because Cosplay is stupid in my mind. I don't have a problem with fancy dress parties because it's amongst friends and you all agree to look stupid together. It's not in a public place either.

Cosplay, to me, is different in that you are going in a semi-public place (Almost anyone can get into a Convention) and it's not an agreed point that everyone is dressing up.
Just because a number of people can be expected to do it doesn't mean it's the convention.

Funny thing is. I genuinely thought you were trolling. I have realised my mistake after re-reading a couple of your later posts.

I genuinely think that cosplaying as Cloud is the worst advice to give to someone. I also genuinely think cosplay in general is a silly idea. I suppose the use of the word stupid was a bit drastic, and I'll admit that not a hell of alot of thought went into that post compared to almost every other post I've made in a very long time. I suppose I should hbave considered the rest of the people in the thread more so that I would avoid looking like a troll.

I genuinely do think cosplaying is a bad idea, and I genuinely think the OP shouldn't do it. However it seems he's pretty excited for it so I guess my advice was aimed to the wrong guy. The OP seemed (to me) as if he was slightly undecided on whether or not it was a good idea to cosplay. I added my two cents.

I still think Cloud is a shitty character to cosplay due to the enormous quantity of people who do try it and the almost as enormous quantity of people who fail at it.

I was undecided, but I've been pretty much convinced by the rest of the posters on here that it would be fun, so I'm gonna try it. Also I totally agree that cloud would be a bad idea, hence why I moved straight on when it was the first suggestion I got.

Even if you say your physical, without an appropriate picture no-one will be able to say if you can or not.

This coming from someone that's done loads of well-done cosplays from the slightest detail.

Sorry mate, I never got into Facebook. I guess after so many years in Myspace, I just never liked Facebook. I have Tuenti but I think that's only for Spain ><

Why should we have clothes at all then?
After all, clothes overall should theoretically be a bad idea as well in that case.

Because I live in New Zealand. Some days it can get chilly. I can only suspect that it's worse in Canada.

Protection. From being jailed due to laws prohibiting public nudidty and from harm by such things as snow, rain, exessive sun, animals, fire etc.

I don't like wearing clothes by the way.

Beyond that, I feel that your question is a bad parallel to my opinion that cosplaying as Cloud is a bad idea. A better question would be, why paint an immitation of a famous painting? Lot's of people do it, and many more do it terribly, therefore you'll look like an idiot if you make the same mistake.
