Nope. I never had to wear a tie until last week. Some students organized an event at my school, where every student should wear a suit at that day. I tried to do it myself but I completely failed, so I had to ask my father to help me and I still can't do it.

I'm trying to learn, but right now, as I do not own a tie, I will continue my current system: get my dad to put it on, tie it, steal it from him still tied.

Bah, Ties! Just pre-applied strangulation tools. I understand that a few centuries ago, richer people might wear similar things to show status or what not, but today I think it's pretty much "Does everyone have their fashionable noose? Can't have a monkey suit without the neck handle!" Looks plain silly, I think, might as well wear a leash.
Anyway, yes I think I know how the preposterous things are applied. If any, though, a bow tie seems sensible. The "handle" would be so short you might be better off grabbing their shirt or neck.

I keep trying, but I always fail. I need to master this... because I love collecting ties. Irony! :(

Yes, but it usually takes two or three tries for me to get it right because I don't wear one very often.
This applies also to my case. I´m not a fan of those formal dresses so I wear a tie very rarely, but I can still make a half-way decent Windsor knot.

Awwww...That's too bad. I wanted to wear a tie. We could've gone and brought sexy back.

Yep. I had to wear one and tie it myself every week for church growing up. So glad i dont have to do that anymore. But yeah, I can tie a tie. A normal neck tie, not a bow tie. Fuck Bow Ties.

Bowtie, cravat, AND standard, all without the benefit of a private and/or boarding school.

[sub]Actually, that makes me feel like even more of a loser...[/sub]

Since it's the 17th of May today and that means that Norwegians jump in their suits and tie ties, I started wondering; How many Escapists knows and doesn't know how to tie a tie?

I myself learned it today, thanks to an app on my Nokia Phone. :D
A girl tought me and I look damn good with one. My father used to say "I don't know who wakes up each morning to tie a noose around their neck."

Nope, my school uniform requires me to wear a tie, but I just get someone to tie it up for me then never undo it. I really should learn how. Ah well can't be bothered.

Yes, learned how when I was 19 and started going to real (read: not McDonald's) job interviews.

I don't have much dexterity so the best I can do is an awkward four-in-hand, but it gets the job done.

...incidentally, this is one of those things that a man should know. Your friendly neighborhood Rated M For Manly poster says so!

I've got no clue at all. There's only been one or two times when I've even held a tie.
