Actually, I've been here for only a few active posts, and I can proudly say.........all of the above.

Especially true for A and C.

Is this a poll? I couldn't tell.

Anyway, I avoid large threads if it's a topic where my viewpoints are likely to have been stated (in a slightly different way) by multiple other people.

Now, to help people stay away from this thread...

EDIT: I hit enter too quickly and now there's nothing in the polls. Oops. I go to EDIT but I don't see where I can fill in the polls. If anyone wants to help me out with that, PM me or just let me know in the thread.
You have to tick the box which says, yeas, i want to add a poll to my thread.

Funnily enough, I may well foresee this particular thread going the way of the "500+ Post" ones. There's as above many posts, if not more, and even better, about half of them seem to be reiterating the same statement.

Queerly enough, probably what the author of the thread wrote. Which is happening here. Including in this post I'm making.

Whoops. Oh, and I don't really care how many posts are in something, because as a whole, when I post, I come back the next day and can't even find the thread I posted in.

I don't want to skim through (or read every post, depends on the topic) five pages when I might not even want to add anything. If the thread is intresting then I might not post but I will read.

I avoid large threads too. It takes ages to read the posts and after I've done that I've seen my opinion stated in the thread countless times already so there's not much use contributing to it myself.

When initially creating the thread, yes. But the problem is, the thread is already made because I hit enter on accident, which is the same as clicking "submit". So, the thread is already made. What I was wondering was if there was a way to edit the individual poll options, which it doesn't look like will be the case.

Yes, and for the exact same reasons as the OP.
I still read the first page for a bit, though.
Or if I posted the thread myself etc.

I might glance a particular topic if it gets big to see what all of the fuss is about, but I generally stay away from big threads unless I'm involved actively with the topic.

Now, the film.

Hey Joe's guide for avoiding making a huge thread

Step one: Make the OP a 100-page rant on pigeons

Step two: Don't ask any questions

Step three: Offer no new insights or relevations

Step four: Avoid the words "yahtzee", "boobs", "cockmouse" or "suxzors" in your post

I tend to stay away from the larger threads because I don't want to read that much and I figure there is little chance anyone else will read my post.

I feel B, and A keeps me from finding out whether or not B is true. I'll read through the first and last two pages of responses, so if there are more than that, I'm unlikely to post.

I hate people in forums that start sentences in "I myself believe that.." or "My personal opinion is..."

Especially the ones that try to sound really impressive by writing their first sentences with the words in strange orders or longer words and then get lazy and start typing things people actually say.

You know who you are.
You are most of you.
You are twats.

But yeah, massive forums are neg.

If I'm going to post on a thread, I want someone to actually read it and take something from it (whether it's a new outlook on something or just the urge to post after me calling me an idiot). On large threads no one reads any besides the original question/ statement. So unless I feel strongly about something or have an opinion that I think should be voiced I won't go onto large threads.

Hell, I didn't even read any of the ones here :p

I usually avoid them because often by that point most of the major points of view have been expressed already. Usually by then it's just a handful of people just arguing nonsensically, determined to not let the other side win by just dropping it.

I don't avoid big threads, I avoid pointless threads. Like the maths ones.
I just look at what interests me and post what I think on the matter.

Just a silly poll I came up with. I have this knack for avoiding threads with 100's of replies, as I:

A. Don't feel like sifting through hundreds of replies.
B. Feel like whatever I have to say has probably already been said.
C. Have this nagging feeling that a thread that large has probably resulted in a war or two.
I choose A, B, AND C. If a thread is 1-2 pages I'll read and reply before I state my opinion. If it's a thread is longer than 2 pages I just don't read it and say whatever I want to say anyway.

This.

And, to not have a one word post, I'd like to say that I thought I was the only one. Silly me.
Even on quite a small topic, I've already found that everything that I wanted to say has been said...
