Poll: Do you buy DLC?

I will never buy DLC full price, either from a store (like in the extra disc) or online. I have, however, bought a copy of Fall Out 3 GOTY just recently and plan on buying the Oblivion 5th year anniversary edition (which will include all of the DLC) when it comes out. Outside of special editions (and only when I no longer have a copy of that game) DLC is too much of a rip-off/scam for me to spend my money on.
It all depends whether I think it's worth it or not and how much I love the game it's for. For example, I don't buy the SSFIV costume packs because they're overpriced and expensive, adding nothing to the gameplay. However, the same could be said for the costume packs for ME2, but I go ahead and buy those because I love that game.
However, if the dlc adds a considerable amount of content for a game I love, I usually go ahead and get it.

all the fallout 3 ones, most of the mass effect 1 &2 ones(if you liked mass effect which i did), im not sure if you consider dead rising case zero a DLC, most of the dragon age ones especially stone prisoner and the morrigan one, zombie apoc for red dead, all the magicka ones ae worth it if you like to add more crazieness to the game, i felt the new vegas DLCs were worth tso far. anything that is more than cosmetic and adds at least an hour to gameplay for a reasonable price is generally worth it if the game its built on was already good. if your not interested in playing the game over again already or putting in more time its generally not wort the effort.NickCaligo42 said:

Thing pisses me off is the bioware points crap, like you have to buy points then use the points to buy DLC, WTF, and the points required arent round numbers, so now i have like 75 bioware points i cant use that i paid for.

depends on the game. I've gotten useless dlc before like the fallout 3 dlc for example, but then there's awesome dlc like Minerva's Den for Bioshock 2, and basically every piece of dlc for Resident Evil 5. So now I'm very cautious about what kind of dlc I get but if it really looks good then I will probably get it.
Well, for Mass Effect 2 I've purchased most of the DLC. I've only ignored a few of the gear packs.
For Dragon Age: Origins I ended up waiting for the Ultimate Edition, rather than purchase DLCs individually.
For Borderlands I've only purchased DLC during the appropriate Steam sales.
How I go about things depends on multiple factors... including price point, if the DLC is "significant" (actual playable content, or just a piece of gear - and how good is the gear?), if I think it should have been included in the vanilla game, and just how much the game in question matters to me.

I can only buy DLC if I can convince my parents, and if it has something I really want, like a few extra tracks or a couple new characters.

$2.50 for The Secret Armory of General Knoxx was an AMAZING deal. That one DLC's story and characters, in my opinion, were far better than the original Borderlands' story and characters.
Shivering Isles for Oblivion was another great deal. Sheogorath is still one of my favorite characters.
On the other hand though, I'm probably never going to get the CoD DLC's. I'm not going to pay $15 for 5 new multiplayer levels. I'd rather just go to TF2, where I can get all 40 official maps free, and infinite community maps, also free.

I view it as a form of laziness and unbridled profiteering.
To me it screams "Yes, we could have released the full game a month later and included this in it, or we could make you stump up £10 for it a month down the line..."

I do if I really like the game and It adds a new area to see
If it's A 15 dollar map pack it can piss off I never ever buy map packs I will buy new tracks for music games some times though

Yea but I don't often ge new games so if there is dlc that seems fun why not, give a little money to the developers, got all the ones for mass effect 2, borderlands, fallout 3 and gta4 and red dead redeption but they were all really good and extended the length of the game and added alot more fun stuff

I tend to buy dlc but only if I really liked the game. Or if its on sale on xbox live, then I tend to buy it anyways.
Yes I do buy DLC. (No I am not interested in expanding on my stance at this time. I am posting to share my opinion because there is no poll. I may expand on my stance in the future though.)
