hey, if it means cheaper machines, like the ps3 slim, i'm all for it. it's not like my ps2 breaks down as soon as i bring a newer console in the room.

It's a little silly to assume cause and effect there, as consoles have gone down in the past without the removal of things like BC.

I wish my PS3 had PS2 backwards compatibility... So many games I didn't play, and now never will. At least they're giving PS1 classics.

It can often mean the difference between me buying the new system or not if it can't use the older games. They'll have to come out with a number of impressive games on the new system before I'll even look at it, if there is no backwards compatability.
